Efficient, fast, available, organized, friendly, good food, reasonable prices (for a ski resort)... I ate at this restaurant about ten times this winter, both during and outside of school holidays, sometimes alone, sometimes with others, and it was always a great experience. Honestly, a fantastic team and a very present owner = a successful restaurant that I recommend without hesitation.

Absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent (especially the tartiflette and lamb shank), the atmosphere was great (we ate there for lunch and dinner), and the service was impeccable despite the crowds. All this with a very reasonable bill for a restaurant right at the foot of the slopes and in front of the chairlift; it even allowed us to join our friend who wasn't skiing and eat with her.

Very friendly staff with their colorful hats. Inexpensive and quickly served drinks. The setting is magnificent, right next to the slopes, very convenient. Excellent! Try it soon!

I highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you're looking for a sweet treat at 4 pm, lunch in the sun at noon, or a cozy dinner in the evening, you'll find what you're looking for. The food is delicious, there's a good selection, and the prices are more than reasonable. Plus, the staff is lovely. We never go to Vars les Claux without stopping by La Zizanie. A truly delightful spot! The location is fantastic, and the food is all delicious, made with high-quality ingredients. The service is quick, and above all, the entire team is incredibly kind, despite the busy schedule of shifts and vacationers rushing to ski lessons or other appointments. We arrived on a Friday evening at 9:00 PM (two adults and two children) without a reservation, and luckily, the waitress found us a table. The pizzas were delicious, as were the homemade tartiflette and the burger. But what we appreciated most was being greeted with a smile and served with a smile; this kindness was a real bonus. Thank you to the waitress for making this meal so enjoyable for us and the children. This is my personal experience and is not intended to harm anyone or anything.

24/03/2026: I highly recommend it! Reservations are strongly advised. The food is excellent, and the owner/waiter is fantastic—humorous and cheerful! An address I'll definitely keep in mind.
22/03/2026: Although we hadn't made a reservation and all the restaurants (including this one) were fully booked that evening, the owner managed to accommodate us by finding a solution. In the end, we didn't regret being turned away elsewhere, as the evening was such a success! It's a friendly, family-run establishment with a very pleasant, down-to-earth atmosphere. The raclette was excellent and, above all, very generous. For dessert, the French toast-style brioche was initially offered with salted caramel, but the chef kindly agreed to serve us homemade chocolate sauce at our request; we greatly appreciated this gesture. A very good address that we will definitely remember for our next visits to Vars.

Le Bistrot de Vars

17/10/2025: A nice, rustic cabin in a beautiful location. The rooms are a bit dated. They could use some improvements here and there. The outdoor dining area, right by the street, is noisy. The food is good. The staff is friendly. Breakfast is adequate.
24/09/2025: For us it is always a pleasure to stop at the Napoleon refuge, I can no longer count the number of times we had a drink there while soaking up the scenery with the small lake and the Col de Vars.🏔️⛰️ In summer in 🏍️ or in winter snowshoeing at the Vars resort nearby.
