L'Artichaut sur Carcassonne

We had drinks there late Friday afternoon, interesting menu, good value for money.

What a wonderful restaurant. Set in a central square in the Bastide of Carcassonne, with both interior and exterior seating available. Wide ranging menu with vegetarian choices available, and knowledgeable waiting staff to guide. A very good wine list on hand with options to suit all tastes and wallets. The food was fresh, well prepared, and well presented,with generous portion sizes. Side dishes were also available. The staff were attentive, and helpful, but not overbearing (which is a plus). There when needed, and invisible when not. Most spoke a good level of English alongside other languages. They showed a good knowledge of the menu and a strong desire to help customers make good choices. The restaurant was busy all night attracting passing trade in the square and clearly popular with locals as well as tourists. Sitting outside on a warm September evening, had the benefit of people watching in a lively location. Definitely one to visit if on a day trip, or to frequent often if in Carcassonne for longer.

The first time, we booked and arrived before eight, everything was fine; the second time, at nine thirty, they turned us away. It's not allowed. The square is surrounded by other places, and we were spoiled for choice the next evening. But it's not allowed.

A warm welcome, excellent service, and we thoroughly enjoyed the truffle burger and the sliced ​​duck—I even forgot to take pictures! Passing through Carcassonne, I highly recommend this establishment.

A must-visit! The service was excellent, and the food superb. Special mention goes to the kebabs and the cassoulet, which are simply divine. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Vegetarian lasagne 10/10, gorgeous bechamel, pasta, sauce, vegetables, everything. Nice and friendly staff. Lovely location on the square. Great little spot.

Had a delicious meal in the shade on the terrace. Friendly, helpful service. Large bottle of table water that was constantly refilled, with a bowl of ice cubes. The food was of good quality and the portions were just right.

The best duck I've ever eaten, cooked to perfection!! Excellent fries too. Great service!

Perfect and generous meals, even the children's menus. Friendly and efficient staff and service. Tried it for lunch 😉
