Overall, the food was disappointing. The overly thick sauce and the presence of octopus partially ruined the dish. The gazpacho was good but very small as a starter. Poor value for money overall.

Very good, young, friendly team, we come from Spain and were not disappointed by the welcome and the food, in addition to a quiet and very pretty location on the banks of the Charente.

The food is very good; I don't usually like burgers, but I really enjoyed this one. The portion size is rather small for the price. Especially the octopus, there wasn't much, and the side dishes weren't very generous either.

A charming place by the river. The atmosphere is very pleasant, ideal for lunch or dinner or a drink in a privileged location. Good food, well-prepared dishes and quality products. They also have a very good cocktail and wine list, perfect to complete the experience. It is also worth highlighting the friendliness and good attention of all the staff, always attentive and professional.

A lovely and romantic spot. The service is quite fast, and the food is high quality and generous. The prices are reasonable. The chocolate fondant is to die for 😋. We'll gladly return.

Update: Very good restaurant, and superb welcome, attentive staff. That was in 2022. 2026: Very helpful staff, but the quality of the food has declined. There were four of us, and three were disappointed by the quality of the dishes. €30 for dishes with little preparation and serious doubts about the freshness of the ingredients. A shame.

Had a lovely meal last night served by pleasant helpful staff. Excellent food and we sat inside as it was hot and they have air-conditioning but they have a lovely outside area too under trees for shade and facing the Charante river. Would definitely recommend it.

Hotel Restaurant Heritage

03/06/2026: We stayed three days at the Hôtel-Restaurant L’Héritage and it was love at first sight. From the moment we arrived, the exceptional welcome and the quality of service immediately put us at ease. You can feel the dedication of the team, their attentiveness, and their genuine concern for the well-being of their guests. The impeccable, clean, and comfortable rooms made our stay particularly enjoyable. The building's characterful architecture adds an authentic charm that makes you want to return. As for the restaurant, we have nothing but praise: the food is excellent, generous, and perfectly executed. Every meal was a delight. In short, we loved this place. An address we wholeheartedly recommend and where we will gladly return.
26/05/2026: I was in Cognac for work as a photographer, and I had the pleasure of spending the night in this magnificent hotel right in the city center. A huge thank you, especially to the young man at reception who was working on May 22, 2026. Thank you so much for all his attentiveness and kindness! And what a comfortable bed! Pure bliss—we didn't want to get up. Everything was very clean and welcoming, and the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

12/08/2026: We ate on the terrace; the staff were pleasant. Our food was good.
02/08/2026: We ate on the terrace; the pizza wasn't great, far too much cheese, and the chef's platter was decent in both quantity and quality! The service was lightning fast; we didn't even have time to enjoy our aperitif before the main courses arrived! A shame, especially since the prices have skyrocketed!
