L'Auberge D'Chez Eux sur Paris

Excellent food, flawless French cuisine, everything was incredibly well-executed. The decor is authentic. We'll be back!

This place is, and always has been fantastic. Saw some comments about things 'going down hill'. Don't know what they're talking about. Food was great. Service was prompt. Little wine list of the day on a chalk board was new for me and fun.

The music here was great but the service did not feel so welcoming this time. That being said, I love coming to this restaurant and I hope to continue to come back in the near future.

Just the most perfect French bistro for authentic French cuisine, but with a caveat. The wine-list is exorbitantly priced. The lowest priced wines are at about 68-70€ a bottle…and there are only 2 or 3 bottles at that price. The average is about 150€+++ per bottle. The wine list has to be revised! When one walks into a French bistro like D’Chez Eux, where, in fact, the food is not at all at premium prices, but the wine is, not many clients are going to linger over dinner. There are some very affordable wines at lunchtime though! That is exactly why I suggested to our party of 4 that we go to D’Chez Eux for dinner. Plus, as we are in Food & Beverage, and agriculture, we were discussing the wine prices, when, the young gentleman serving us came and showed us a bottle that he offered at a lower price because he heard us “commenting rudely” about the wine-list! True Parisian hospitality, I tell you! Anyway, because he had seen one of us a couple of times, at lunches, he made up for his callous remark. Sadly, this bistro will have value for money only at lunchtime meals, but not at dinnertime.

Quiet day of service. Very unfriendly service - unusually so. The food was ok, good herring, not very interesting salads and celeri remoulade with king crab.

food was good . traditional dishes well prepared. The bread was old !!! Service was very good ( the place was not busy) .

I did respond, it was not favorable. We have been coming to the restaurant for over 40 years. Service was non existent and bordered on rude, the duck breast was raw and the lamb covered medium rare to medium well. The wine we wanted was not available and the upsell was over 100€ higher. We did not complain as we didn’t figure it would make a difference. A very disappointing evening.

I want to be fair with this review. We dined at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived, there were a handful of diners who had just arrived. The gentleman who greeted us was curt and harried—he appeared to be the only service person in the restaurant. The wine list was robust with nearly all the options over 100 Euro. Service was abrupt and unpleasant. When an elderly couple was seated and told the single server this was their 40th year coming to the restaurant, they were cut off with “I don’t have time to chitchat. I’m the only server.” A basket of stale bread was literally tossed on our table. A pregnant woman seated behind us was mocked for asking that her steak be prepared well-done. We contemplated leaving, but decided to stay the course. The food was decent- well seasoned and palatable, though nothing special. The ambiance was modest, with holes in the linens and furnishings that were well-worn. In summary, this is not a venue I would seek out, not one I would recommend.

D’Chez Eux is one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. We have been for both lunch and dinner and is a must on our meal itinerary for every trip. Our most recent visit was wonderful and went for a Wednesday lunch. We started with the charcuterie plate, and I always love the selections of meats they offer. My father got the cassoulet which he orders every time he visits, my husband got the duck a l’orange, and I got the duck confit. We are looking forward to our next visit to Paris and to D’Chez Eux!
