We had the good fortune to work together many years ago at Alain Chapel's, and today I find the same exacting standards, the same generosity, and the same passion for quality ingredients. Café Max is a warm, vibrant, and elegant establishment where you immediately feel at home. The cuisine is precise, authentic, and delicious; the ingredients are showcased to perfection, and the service reflects the restaurant's character: attentive and welcoming. It's always a joy to see a chef remain true to his values ​​while evolving his cuisine with such talent. A truly wonderful Parisian restaurant that I recommend without hesitation. Bravo to Frédéric and his entire team!

21/07/2026: Truly the best steak frites. Very local and neighborhood spot with delicious food and lovely service, feels like you live around the corner even when visiting from afar!! Enjoyed everything about our experience and will add it to our list for next visit.

05/08/2026: Really exceptional dishes! The lunch menu was very good value for such quality food. They knew from my reservation I was coeliac and took every precaution. Menu items were marked with a star if they were gluten free and they also had gluten free bread. They are clearly used to catering for gluten free. Recommended.

19/09/2026: The hype, the good reviews, and especially the price are absolutely not worth it; we have rarely been so disappointed. The service was incredibly unfriendly; we hadn't even finished breakfast when they shoved the receipt in our faces with the explanation that they had other guests waiting. Furthermore, the food was lacking; many items were sold out or "not available at this restaurant" from the start. For example, I ordered the raspberry-pistachio pancakes, which were garnished with exactly three raspberries. Truly disappointing!

28/07/2026: Service was ok, felt very European, you kinda get their attention to do most of it ordering, additional drinks, pay the bill etc. I think other cues that help is empty plates but we only really finished dessert which was amazing. The rest of the food was just alright. There was an amuse of chilled split pea soup with a dense bread, We ordered the Langoustines, some of it was good but there was some mushy textured ones that wasnt super fresh. We also got a ravioli, thicker skin on a ravioli and also the filling had no flavor beautiful dish though. The sweets and wines were perfect no complaints, the foie pate en croute amazing aswell. My only big service and restaurant complaints are 1. Main plates weren't good 2. We ordered another dish that never came 3. They requested additional gratuity 15-20% was requested After we got our bill we had a additional gratuity option which I thought was weird but we ended up giving them an additional 20% it was a nervous mistake and I thought about it after and realized it was a mistake.

19/07/2026: The welcome and service were very pleasant, as was the setting...but I'm sorry, the starter with the carpatcho was really not good...fortunately the Champagne was delicious...

24/08/2026: We spontaneously dropped by one evening and received a very warm welcome. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. We had the Margherita pizza and pasta with porcini mushrooms and scallops. The pizza dough was thin and crispy – which we really enjoyed.

24/08/2026: WHEEL OF FORTUNE. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! I recommend this place, the pizza was good.

28/08/2026: The bakery has good quality products, but they're far too expensive for what they are. Plus, you have to pay extra to eat in... I've never seen anything like it. And the lack of vegetarian options is unacceptable!

28/08/2026: It's simply ludicrous that in 2026 a bakery can't offer vegetarian options, even though it should be the norm. No vegetarian sandwiches, not even a vegetarian salad. The only option: a slice of pizza at €5.90 EACH, far too expensive for what it is. What's more, eating in costs extra, great. I don't recommend this bakery because there's absolutely nothing for vegetarians, although there's a wide selection of other sandwiches, hence my two-star rating.
