It's slow, slow, slow... so slow that you forget everything else. In the end... the service ruined everything :/ The tarte tatin is not a tarte tatin, not even a little.

I went there with my family, it was the first time. Very nice experience. We were well received, the menu offered many local products. You can come with children, couples and even with your dog. Experience to repeat!

Passing through Chaource with family, very nice discovery. Warm welcome, fast and quality service. Well-stocked menu, both in terms of dishes and wines. Beautiful collection of whiskeys and rums. Excellent meal, and reasonable prices, pleasant and air-conditioned room, nothing to complain about. Thank you for everything and we look forward to coming back to eat at your place.

Very disappointed with our last visit, a mojito without bubbles served at the same time as the salads. A mulled white wine which could only have been drunk at the end of a meal, a noisy and non-air-conditioned room. Very disappointed with the last performances.

Our experience was not like some other TA reviews. It was a very slow lunch - in fact we were first in at 12h00, and last out at 14h15. The food was not memorable, just average. The service was not good. Empty glasses and bottles were not removed, and we were never asked if we wanted another drink, or more bread. The waiters and waitresses (and there were several) never passed by to ask if we needed anything. The 2 children at our table did not get their drinks until we asked about them and were about to leave.

The staff her is fun and friendly—and speak English! Good food featuring the local cheese. Lots available for vegetarians too. Sit outdoors if the weather permits.

09/11/2025: Despite a minor issue with the online reservation due to the establishment being closed for holidays, the owner quickly found a solution. It's generally recommended to book by phone. A very warm welcome awaits you at this family-run business, now in its fifth generation; you can feel the dedication of every staff member. The restaurant is fantastic, with a super friendly waitress who provided helpful explanations about the local area and knew her dishes and wines well. The crispy andouillette sausage was excellent, featuring local products. A nice bonus is the gas station right across the street. Thank you for your warm welcome and your quick response in finding a solution!
29/10/2025: We stayed at La Cardusia for the first time earlier this month on our way to Spain and it was a wonderful discovery! We will definitely go back next time we pass through France. The room was very comfortable and the beds were so good that, along with the total peace and quiet, we overslept the next morning for the first time in ages. We had a great meal at the restaurant the night before and we were very happy with both the price there and of the room. But the best bit was meeting Frederic. We all know that the style, attitude and friendliness of the staff can make all the other things about your stay even better and that was absolutely true here. We have never had such a warm welcome at any hotel in France as we got here from Frederic. His English is superb to the point that he made us laugh with his sense of humour and his ability to communicate that to non French speakers. The following morning after getting good local advice from Frederic, we felt we were saying goodbye to a friend. This hotel is a brilliant example of the best of Logis hotels and we can’t wait to stay there again.

Chez Philippe Bar Restaurant Pizzeria

12/09/2024: While passing through the region we discovered this restaurant, the welcome is friendly, the products are of very good quality. The Troyes andouillette with chaource is killer! So plentiful that we weren't able to taste the desserts despite the appetizing menu. Thank you boss for this good table.
27/08/2024: Was a nice restaurant run by a nice person!
