Just like in the old days, no frills, like the true Saint-Étienne bistros and neighborhood restaurants, simple but so well cooked that you'd think the owner was a culinary magician. We'll be back again and again!

Nice decor, good food, unpleasant service… for a foreigner who doesn’t know how a Saint-Étienne bouchon works (which must have its particularities) and who finds herself in this city for the first time, I must admit that the gentleman really spoiled the pleasure of having traveled 2000 km here.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while simply looking for parking near the Châteaucreux train station—and what a wonderful surprise! The owner is exceptionally kind and welcoming, a rare quality these days. You immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is reminiscent of small restaurants from the 1950s: simple, authentic, and warm. The traditional French cuisine is remarkably well-executed. We ordered calf's head and wild boar stew, followed by a rum baba for dessert—everything was perfectly cooked, generous, and delicious. The Pinot Noir served at the table was absolutely memorable and complemented the dishes beautifully. And above all, don't forget the local water, Parot, which is also worth discovering. A truly wonderful find. Highly recommended.

A real gem! A truly nostalgic meal; the chef transported me back to my childhood farm with his caillette, a dish worthy of the Ardèche tradition. A small, intimate dining room, quality ingredients enhanced by the chef's pasta—a quality meal at a good price! A place to discover and share!
