Le Barboton sur Saint-Etienne

Twice in this restaurant. I love the concept but the service is really not gracious. If you see him smiling let me know. He should change jobs. Otherwise meals like at home...

Great little restaurant! Everything excellent from starter to dessert. Don't hesitate for those who like grandmother's traditional cuisine.

Traditional restaurant home cooking retro and authentic place no more expensive than a fast food but at least we eat homemade with taste and flavors. Friendly welcome, fast service, in short, everything is perfect, I recommend 100% because unfortunately these days it is becoming very rare to find a restaurant that cooks its own dishes.

We were staying in Saint Etienne for one night and noticed this restaurant nearby our hotel. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Although there is no English on the menu our waiter did try and make an effort with us considering we spoke no French. The food was incredible. We shared three starters which the quantity and quality was amazing. Our mains were also excellent. The price was very good value too. If you are staying near the train station in Saint Etienne I thoroughly recommend Le Barboton.

I highly recommend this restaurant, in a warm atmosphere we enjoyed a meal that was as hearty as it was good. When we leave we have really eaten very well, we are full, without feeling “heavy”. The bill is also very honest.
