Le Bistro Regent sur Montpellier

Okay, but nothing exceptional for this chain restaurant. It does the job. Well located, next to the city center. The setting is clean. We didn't have to wait, but it wasn't very busy that evening (it was raining). The service was good and friendly, but they missed some key details even though it was late (chipped plate, no food warmer, didn't offer extra fries, cleared the table a bit too quickly...). The food is good, with the usual minor flaws of this chain (meat a little tough, desserts a bit cheap). We still had a pleasant time; it remains a reliable option.

I'm a regular at this bistro, but this time the experience was disappointing. We waited 25 to 30 minutes for our salmon tartare, which is hard to understand for a cold dish. Meanwhile, our friends had already received their main courses (duck breast and beef) and had to eat without my friend. We asked the waiter several times about the status of our order, and each time the answer was, "It's coming." I had to get up and go see the head waiter before our dish finally arrived in 3 minutes… We also asked for extra fries and salad. After another reminder, the waitress replied "yes" in a very unpleasant tone, as if we were bothering her. Admittedly, we insisted two or three times about the dish, but we were patient and understanding for a hot meal… not for a tartare, which should be served quickly. Note: They offered my friend a free dessert when her main course arrived late, but she didn't want it. Ultimately, since the extra salad was chargeable, they gave it to us for free. It was a nice gesture, but it doesn't make up for the lack of organization. It's a shame, because I usually enjoy this place, but this service really spoils the experience.

We had a wonderful time at Bistro Régent on Place de la Comédie. The service was impeccable, thanks to Hiba, a smiling and very friendly waitress who gave us a warm welcome from beginning to end. The meat was of excellent quality, cooked perfectly as requested, and the fresh and very tender salad was a perfect complement to the meal. We will gladly return.

Good, but too long a wait once seated (ordering, food arrival), especially considering it's not haute cuisine (beef, fish), and too noisy.

Order taken and service very quick, the servers were quite pleasant. The dish was tasty and as described. I'm removing one star because the meat was served cold and I didn't receive the dessert I ordered.

Bistrot Régent, open at 1:30 pm, offers feel-good cuisine. However, the owner's comments about the "standardized" training of his cooks recently sparked controversy (January and November 2025) and somewhat tarnished my impression of the restaurant. The interior was a bit too hot during our visit, and we waited about 20 to 30 minutes for our food. Despite this, the restrooms were clean and the staff friendly. Overall, a decent experience.

We came as a group of 10 and were only given 5 plates of fries for 10 of us, so not even a bowl each, despite the "unlimited fries" sign. Furthermore, I should point out that we had to ask several times for fries. Secondly, the burger bun was dry and there was no sauce inside except for 2 ml of ketchup.

Same menu as other franchises, quality and quantity. The salmon is amazing. Good value for money.

Never disappointed. A warm and friendly welcome. The duck breast is always cooked to perfection. The setting in the early evening is ideal, away from the daytime crowds – a truly satisfying break. We are never pressured to over-order. Thank you for our fourth visit.
