Le Petit Jardin sur Montpellier

Very disappointed by the quality and quantity of the dishes: undercooked sea bass, pumpkin, agnolo, a tiny portion of pear for dessert, shredded beef... there were four of us for dinner last night and we were disappointed considering the price! Only the setting met our expectations.

Gorgeous courtyard. They have a lovely inside area as well, but I chose the garden as that was the main draw for me. The food was delicious, interesting and beautifully presented. A really reasonable price for fantastic service and delicious food. Wonderful for a fancy lunch for myself!

The restaurant has a truly incredible setting, right in the city center, and finding yourself on this little shaded terrace is quite pleasant. Coming here, we expected something amazing in a beautiful setting. There are plenty of great things, but something's missing to make the experience truly exceptional. The food is good but nothing extraordinary, the service is fine but not very modern, the menu is decent but nothing groundbreaking. The cocktails could also use a bit more modern flair... in short, we left happy with our time there, but we expected a little more given the location 😉

We had dinner there on Wednesday, May 20th, in the garden. The first table offered, behind a tree and out of the way, didn't suit us, so we were seated at a table for two in the middle of the others. We ate very well and were so pleased that we booked for dinner on Saturday, May 23rd. Upon arrival, we were assigned a table downstairs to the left of the steps, away from everything, in the little cabin at the back of the garden. A table for two was free in the center, but not for us. So we chose to eat inside, so as not to be ostracized and relegated to a corner. Ordering went smoothly. The amuse-bouches arrived and were delicious. However, they weren't preceded by the olives and the small bowl of delicious olive oil. An oversight. The starters arrived, but there was a mistake; one out of two wasn't the right one. They were sent back and returned correctly, but the agnolotti were cold (not lukewarm). The main courses were fine, the same as before... Dessert arrived: a strawberry cake. Far from the Paris-Brest I'd ordered. Another wait. In short, a disappointment compared to three days prior. The food was undeniably good, but poorly complemented by evasive service... A shame. We'll see next year (I was already there last year).

It was a most enjoyable time on this magnificent terrace. The welcome and service were of a very high standard. The dishes were delicious and prepared to perfection. Everything was impeccable.

The setting is perfect, understated and peaceful, with a magnificent view, and the dishes are beautifully presented. I wasn't convinced by the sea bass, which I found bland, but that's just my personal opinion; the other three diners enjoyed their meals. We'll gladly return to enjoy the terrace!
