Bistrot du Bord de l’Eau was easily one of the highlights of our trip. The food was absolutely outstanding—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and everything we tried was excellent. The service was exceptional: friendly, attentive, and professional without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere and setting are beautiful, peaceful, elegant, and incredibly relaxing, and the location in Levernois just outside Beaune makes it a perfect stop while exploring Burgundy. From the food to the service to the surroundings, everything was first-class. One of the best places we ate during our entire trip and an absolute must if you’re visiting the Burgundy region.

It was okay, nothing special. I expected better.
The setting is beautiful. My piece of meat was stringy. No vegetables on the side, just potatoes, which were very good. The chocolate dessert was small but tasty.
I felt there was a lack of privacy at the table. The upside of this lack of privacy was that we got to know our table neighbors, but that's not necessarily what you're looking for when you go to a restaurant.
The service was good but somewhat disorganized: we were asked several times if we had ordered our main courses and then our desserts.

A really lovely place! We ate on the terrace in the courtyard, and the setting was truly delightful. Despite the staff seeming to be partly made up of students, the service was very professional, efficient, and well-executed. We had a wonderful meal and a fantastic evening. We highly recommend this place!

Dinner as a couple. Fourth time this summer. Always as good and refined. The menu is regularly updated. For dessert, I recommend the floating island… absolutely delicious!! Despite a "minor" incident with our server (his wait and attitude) and the location (the entrance courtyard), the evening ended well thanks to the professional and attentive intervention of two people in charge of supervising the service, whom I thank. Make the detour… you'll be enchanted.

Greeted by an excellent maître d’ who sat us promptly. We had a great table overlooking the gardens. The waiter was attentive and great wine suggestions. We were disappointed that one of our wines were old and when opened cork broke and pieces were in our glasses. Food quality can use some help. The tuna was without flavor. The risotto was runny. The steak was soft but flavor was not great. The fish cake was good and had flavor. For the quality of restaurant and pricing I would have expected more.
