Originally from Rennes but now living in Chicago, I can't imagine a trip to Rennes without having lunch or dinner at Café Breton, owned by Marie-Joséphine and Émeric. I love this place: the atmosphere, the decor, the food… everything is perfect. Marie-Joséphine is a remarkable businesswoman, always in a good mood. I highly recommend this gem!

I ate there 3 times in 4 days. Excellent value for money… the food is fantastic, original, and of superb quality, the service is excellent, in short, I highly recommend it 😍

The food was excellent, and the service was prompt and pleasant. The only slight drawback was the lighting: it was barely possible to read the menu.

17/04/2026: We received a very warm welcome; the waiter was attentive and professional. The upstairs dining area is lovely, with a large bay window overlooking the Vilaine River. The gourmet menu was beautifully presented, featuring high-quality ingredients. The children's menu was excellent and plentiful, which delighted my boys. The amuse-bouches and petits fours were also very much appreciated. A big thank you!
