Le Cafe de France sur Grimaud

A very friendly café-restaurant in the heart of Grimaud. Efficient and very welcoming service. Old stone buildings in a very pretty village.

We had a wonderful meal there this summer. The fish was excellent, the vegetables were perfectly tender, and the dessert was refreshing. Very good value for money. The shaded terrace had a lovely view, and the service was very friendly. We highly recommend it.

Quite bland food that came out cold. I ordered a medium-rare steak, which didn’t seem to be a thing so it got changed to a medium. The steak I received was unfortunately dry and closer to medium-well. It had a nice crust and tasted smokey but that was about it. They luckily had salt at the table which made it slightly better. The atmosphere was wonderful though with a great view quite close by! That is- until it got dark.. at the section of the outdoor seating we were at the spotlights never turned on. It became quite a challenge to see much of anything until a waiter came and lit one of the three candles on the table before leaving. We proceeded to light the other two ourselves which helped quite a bit. Lastly, our server was helpful, polite and energetic throughout the entire evening.

⭐️ A beautiful restaurant… but disappointing service We had a wonderful time enjoying both the setting and the food. The terrace is absolutely stunning, the layout is excellent, and the atmosphere is truly superb. Sitting on the terrace in such a pleasant setting is a real pleasure. A big thumbs up to the chef: the dishes were delicious, made with high-quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, the service severely marred the experience. We found it extremely poor: unfriendly, unwelcoming, and frankly unpleasant. We felt unwelcome for much of the meal. One particularly disappointing point: the cutlery used for the appetizer had to be reused for the next course. For example, after eating the octopus salad with the same cutlery, we then had to use the same cutlery for the steak tartare. This seems completely inappropriate in a restaurant of this caliber. The service was also very inflexible. Modifying or even simply adapting a meal seems virtually impossible, with no real effort to find a solution for the customer. It's a real shame, because the setting and the food are excellent and could make this establishment a truly wonderful place. But the service clearly needs improvement: cold, unpleasant, unprofessional, and very uncustomer-focused. Congratulations to the kitchen for the quality of the dishes, but a major drawback is the service. We sincerely hope this aspect can be improved, as the restaurant's potential is undeniable.

Enjoyed a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

We ate three different dishes, all very good. The meats were cooked perfectly. The ribeye steak was very tender and generous. The location is lovely and the waiter was very friendly. We highly recommend it.

There is a young team who have taken over this cafe and changed it for the better. It has a beautiful Mediterranean vibe, with an aspect any Frenchman would be proud of. The food was excellent and plenty of non-standard dishes for Provence. Sit outside and dream away.
