Superb address, located opposite the quays

Passing through Chinon, we had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Everything was homemade, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

A very pleasant surprise, lunch with friends. Starter/main/dessert €22. The service was quick and relaxed, the food excellent. In short, a great find. The only downside is the tables being close together.

The steak wasn't very tender, even rare, and was difficult to cut and eat. The portion of fries was a bit small. The rest was good, although a little more greenery on the plate would have been a nice touch. The homemade mille-feuille was very good. The staff was friendly and the service was quick.

As usual, a super warm, pleasant, and delicious experience. High-quality products used extremely well 👌

After a big disappointment at the market bistro, which I strongly advise against at all levels, we went to finish our meal at the Café de la Paix. Excellent, warm welcome and packed with people. Very polite and friendly staff. Thank you to young Enzo for his smile and his service. It was a treat to enjoy a tiramisu like I hadn't tasted in a long time, with a smooth, soft and light cream. The hot chocolate is also up to scratch and delicious. A big thank you and I recommend it with my eyes closed.

Resident played tricks on us, we came to do our shopping and eat at the brasserie. No waiting, good service. Delicious dishes with lots of choice. Very reasonable prices. Keep it up

Had a delicious 3 course meal here! Started off with a decadent roasted Camembert that was perfectly creamy and came with some yummy crouton-like bread for dipping (though I did also use the table bread to dip in the cheese, and that was good too). Then I had the burger which was delicious! I personally didn’t like the cheese on it (too strong) so I wasn’t able to finish it which made the chef sad (they clearly take pride here in their food and customer experience), but I still had plenty of food given the side salad and generous portion of tasty fries. FYI based on this and other restaurants I’ve been to, France’s version of “medium” seems to be like US’s version of “medium rare” so order accordingly. For dessert, I had a wonderful crème brûlée that I will remember for a long time - perfect mixture of creamy, sweet, and crunchy. This is a place to leisurely savor a delicious meal and good conversation, not a quick stop while you’re under time pressure to get to the next thing.
