Le Campbieilh sur Gedre

Our second stay at Laurent and Valérie's was just as enjoyable. The welcome was warm and the rooms were very clean and spacious. We loved Valérie's cooking and the generous breakfasts. A place we highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

A hotel along the road leading to Cinque di Gavernie, with just a few recently renovated rooms, each unique in style and capacity. Attention to detail and cleanliness are the rooms' strong points. Dinner and breakfast are a real plus... The owner is an excellent cook and uses only local ingredients... The dishes are exquisite, and the company of the family who runs the hotel is fantastic. You don't stay in a hotel, you stay in a family.

We had a lovely lunch at Le Campbieilh during our stay in the area. • As it’s still off season, the menu was reduced, but everything we had was fresh and enjoyable. I had a salad de chèvre chaud, and the salad with local trout was also very good. For dessert, the tarte aux myrtilles was a tasty, and the rum raisin ice cream made for a nice finish. • We also tried a glass of muscat and a local merasson, which added a nice regional touch to the meal. • We sat outside on the small roadside patio on a sunny day, which made for a pleasant and relaxed stop. The owners were kind and welcoming, and we appreciated the chance to exchange a few words with them. • A simple and enjoyable experience, and a nice place to stop if you are passing through Gèdre.
