I stayed there for three nights; the bedding was good quality. The rooms were clean, and the owner was very friendly. From morning to breakfast and dinner, I had no complaints. There was a sea view and it's just steps from the oyster market. I recommend it.

A wonderful evening at this establishment. Excellent oysters, a flavorful risotto, a magnificent turbot, and to finish, a beautiful cheese plate, all served with a smile and attentive service overlooking the bay of Cancale...♥️

Tourist trap! Mussels in cream sauce cost €20. In most local restaurants, they cost between €16 and €20. With fries and sometimes a bowl of cider. At Le Cancalais, you pay an extra €4.50 for fries! One visit too many.

This is regarding Le Cancalais as a hotel. It’s actually fine. Welcome was rather brusque by two members of staff but the charming lady who looks after the hotel process couldn’t have been nicer. We booked a room on the front and it was a little old fashioned but spacious enough and clean. View of the sea was lovely. Sometimes you got some noise from the restaurants but that was part of the charm. I would recommend this place if you were to stay in Cancale.

Everything was perfect. Thank you to the chef, thank you for the service. You are all very pleasant, you love your work, and it shows. A great place with excellent value for money.

25/05/2026: We ate lunch at the restaurant. The welcome was very warm and the location perfect during the heatwave. The food was served quickly and was good. The waiters were responsive and attentive.
