LE CENTRAL BRASSERIE sur Roanne

Incredible experience! We each ordered the lovely set menu. It's a real treat for the taste buds! The staff is lovely. We also bought a few grocery items and some fabulous bread.

We returned to Le Central for dinner during our visit to Roanne. We received a very warm welcome, the service was good, and the restaurant is beautiful, spacious, and traditional—not to be missed. The food is good and prepared with care using fresh ingredients. The menu is small, which makes choosing easy and ensures homemade dishes. The orange risotto with curry cream was very creamy. My husband and I would have appreciated an extra minute of cooking time, as the rice was much too "al dente." It's a shame the rice is served spread out on a large plate, but the waiter told us... that's how Mr. Troisgros prefers it. The confit sturgeon was cooked to perfection; we simply added a pinch of fleur de sel. The strawberry dessert was light. As last year, we had a lovely evening.

The restaurant has a bistro-style decor, but the tables for two are a bit small. The gourmet menu features flavorful, well-presented dishes. The appetizer portion was a little small. The peach Melba was excellent. The service was pleasant but somewhat impersonal.

A lunch like I wish I could have every day: the food is precise, delicious, and beautifully presented; the wine is well-chosen, and the setting is superb. The service is elegant and relaxed.
