Le Chardonnay sur Clermont-Ferrand

A truly wonderful discovery! The €40 menu offered us a delightful culinary experience, from the amuse-bouche to the petit fours! There was a great deal of creativity throughout our courses, such as the perfectly cooked red mullet paired with beetroot and strawberry, or the house classic for dessert: praline soufflé with peach sorbet, a perfect hot-and-cold combination. A feast for the eyes and the palate! The staff, despite being very busy, were incredibly attentive. A fine wine list, curated by a sommelier with excellent recommendations. In short, a very good restaurant, orchestrated by a young chef who shares his passion for fine cuisine, and with a promising future. I will definitely return to Le Chardonnay on my next trip to Clermont-Ferrand.

When the gray skies cast a pall over the start of a visit, LE CHARDONNAY is a beacon of hope. The welcome and service are warm and friendly, and while the lunch menu is a set menu, it's excellent (green bean salad with tomato toast and fresh anchovies, veal onglet with potato cake, and a superb lemon-verbena mille-feuille). Bravo! Special mention goes to the decor, particularly the large, tastefully furnished curved bookcase. This restaurant is featured in the MICHELIN Green Guide, and deservedly so.

Absolutely nothing to complain about, it's practically perfect. Impeccable. My wife and I had an unforgettable time at Le Chardonnay. The dishes were perfectly executed with wonderful new flavors, the wine list was carefully curated, and the service was impeccable. A lovely restaurant in an exceptional setting at the foot of Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral. The price was fair and reasonable. We'll be back and we'll definitely recommend it. 👌

We arrived just as the kitchen was about to close, but they still served us very kindly and we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal in true French bistro style. The menu was concise but exquisite. As we arrived at the end of lunch service, some of the things we ordered were sold out. They offered us delicious alternatives and compensated us, although it wasn't necessary, by offering us complimentary wine. The dessert, a Paris-Brest with mushroom caramel sauce, was delightful. The coffee was accompanied by mini financiers and blackcurrant jellies. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and we will definitely return if we are ever in Clermont-Ferrand.

The atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Côme, the sommelier, listened attentively and humbly recommended an excellent wine selection. He is very professional and knows how to advise and adapt to each person's level of knowledge. A very good culinary experience and a big thank you to Côme for his attentiveness and advice.

A warm welcome awaited us at this simple yet stunning venue. While not a wine connoisseur, I was eager to discover new wines, and the sommelier (Côme) listened attentively and tailored our selection accordingly. The result was more than satisfactory – an excellent wine selection indeed! Thank you to the staff for their humility, especially the sommelier, who was very pleasant and attentive.
