I really like the place and go there every time I’m in the area
Its mainstay offering is flammekuche, a kind of French pizza originally from Alsace
The food ‘is what it is’. It’s not fine dining, but it’s generally good enough and seriously well served
Staff are friendly, polite and professional.
The atmosphere is lovely and whist there is music but , main ‘noise’ just the pleasant sound of conversation
Just be careful if you wonder away from the flammkuche - I ordered carbonnade and it was by far the worst I’ve ever had.

We ate at this restaurant six times. The first time, the "Assiette du Comptoir" was perfect; everything was piping hot. But the other five times, everything was cold, even after reheating it. The mini Welsh rarebit was frozen solid, as was the croziflette. The Flemish carbonnade was barely lukewarm, the filet mignon with Maroilles cheese was the same, and the small croque monsieur, tartiflette-style, was equally cold. The pasta (enormous) for the children's menu was dry, tasteless, and without sauce, as were the pizzas. We returned in April, and it was still the same: cold.
It's a shame; we really enjoy eating at Comptoir du Malt, but we won't be coming back since nothing changes despite our numerous complaints.

We went to the cinema afterwards, stopping at Le Malt for a charcuterie board served by Pamela, a very pleasant and smiling waitress. We had a lovely evening. Pamela was very pleasant and highly recommended. Thank you, Pamela!
