Le Duguesclin sur Clermont-Ferrand

Never disappointed, always new discoveries, which isn't always the case in some restaurants. And once again, we had a wonderful meal. Our eyes and taste buds were delighted.

We had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect. Friendly welcome and service. Exquisite cuisine. We will gladly return. I highly recommend it.

We were passing through Clermont-Ferrand and had lunch at this little restaurant. A warm welcome, excellent service, and an exquisite menu. Gourmet cuisine at a very reasonable price. One more thing: our little dog, Maa, was also very well received.

Go there quickly... Pure bliss for your taste buds and your eyes... unbeatable value for money.

The food was exceptional. From the two amuse-bouches to the dessert, the ingredients were surprising, and every bite was enjoyable. The presentation of the plates was artistic and loving. The service was interested in us, yet unobtrusive – very personable and professional. A culinary experience that makes you happy! The 20-minute tram ride from the center was well worth it.

Great place! The welcome was really very friendly and warm (only on a Sunday lunchtime). The food is also excellent!

We ended up at the Le Duguesclin (based on google and Michelin guide reviews), as our hotel informed us the week before staying, they had staffing issues for the restaurant that weekend and it would be closed. It had a very swollen wooden door, we did think they were closed for a bit, as it's also quite dimly lit. However, once in, the decor is very elegant. The background music, featuring artists like Massive Attack helped provide a lovely ambience. The host & food was simply brilliant, and she happily explained the courses fully. We had red/white wine matched to the food. The appetizers got the palate going, the main dishes certainly excited the taste buds. The chocolate dessert was properly filthy & decadent. If we end up going to the South of France next summer, we are very likely to end up for a repeat visit.

The food was basic, almost like a canteen. It's a shame because the setting is nice and the staff are friendly.
