Le Figuier de Saint Esprit sur Antibes

There are dinners you simply eat... and others you experience. An evening at Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit in Antibes, in an absolutely magical setting where you dine under a fig tree. We chose the Le Figuier Menu, paired with wines, which included amuse-bouches, a starter, a main course, a pre-dessert, and a dessert. The dishes unfolded like true works of art, as beautiful as they were delicious, with surprising combinations and exquisitely precise cuisine from the first bite to the last. A huge thank you to Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit and Chef Christian Morisset for their warm welcome and this magnificent experience. If you are ever in Antibes, I highly recommend treating yourself to this culinary journey.

After some very difficult times in my personal life, I was approached by some very pleasant young people my age. They gave me a lift in their car and bought me a drink on the terrace of this restaurant to chat the other evening. The servers were incredibly warm and professional, and I even went back today for dinner; it was delicious! Very well located and equipped, the food was excellent, and once again, the staff was more than up to the task. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through. Update one year later: "Terrace" dining is no longer available, only set menus and a full menu (so much less choice in what you want to order). The staff remains very pleasant and completely at odds with the now-changed atmosphere. It seems the intention is now to emphasize class differences by amplifying them with subtle, deliberate changes. Whereas last year I could spend €120 spread out over time, taking advantage of having time to work, etc., upon returning tonight I felt like I was being pushed out by the environment because I couldn't afford to spend €70 to €120 on a single meal. It's almost humiliating, and it's genuinely a shame to see the establishment change so much (no doubt to maximize profits); it's losing its soul.

Exceptional! Excellent dishes, interesting research, unusual but very successful pairings. The octopus with lard and the turbot with truffle and meat stock are special.

Always delicious and original, one of the best restaurants in Antibes, Michelin notwithstanding.

For my 50th birthday, my sweetheart surprised me with a trip to Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit in Antibes, and what a wonderful discovery… or rather, what a magnificent experience! We chose the Discovery Menu, a true culinary journey in several courses: amuse-bouche, starters, fish, meat, cheese, pre-dessert, and desserts… Refined, creative cuisine full of surprises, where each dish tells a story. But beyond the food, what I'll remember most is the warm welcome and attentiveness of the chef, Christian Morisset. He took the time to show us around his kitchen, the restaurant, even down to the dishwashing area, all while sharing the history of the place, his own journey, and his passion. A special, simple, and incredibly human moment that added a unique dimension to the evening. And because the attention to detail was so evident, the chef, who knows my partner, surprised us with two glasses of wine. A thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. 🥂 And of all the dishes I tasted, I'll especially remember the Alpilles lamb cooked in Vallauris clay, a true signature of the restaurant. Exceptional cooking, melt-in-your-mouth meat, incredible flavors… a dish that will undoubtedly remain etched in my memory. Thank you to the entire team at Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit for this magnificent evening. The culinary experience here reaches new heights, in an enchanting setting that stands out as one of the most beautiful jewels of Antibes and the South of France. The lunch menu is a masterful demonstration of precision: generous portions, strikingly beautiful presentations, and flavor combinations of absolute finesse. A flawless performance. The highlight of this special moment was the conversation with the chef, who came to share his passion. He did us the great honor of opening the doors of his kitchens, kept in a state of surgical cleanliness, to share his art with poignant generosity. A truly memorable meal and a profound human connection, far surpassing many restaurants already lauded by the guides. Three Michelin stars would be a fitting reward for such talent.
