Le Galapagos sur La Bourboule

Hello, on Sunday, March 8, 2026, I came to your restaurant with my wife and son. We had a very good meal and the setting was pleasant. At the end of the meal, being rather rushed, I paid the bill of €78.90 in cash at the counter. I put the receipt away without checking the accuracy of the charge. On March 10, upon returning home, I checked my bill and noticed that I had been charged extra for what we had consumed: one fromage blanc, one tarte tatin, and two coffees, totaling €20.00. I don't know if this billing error was intentional or not, but I have questions about the table management. The table we occupied was number 17. The waitress was a blonde woman wearing a white blouse, jeans, and brown boots. I should mention that I called you several times, but my calls never went through. I also left you a... I left a message on your answering machine, but to date I have received no response. I also sent you my complaint by email through the Yellow Pages, but again, I have received no reply. Please note that I live 400 kilometers from your establishment, and you will understand that I cannot travel there to dispute this charge. Sincerely, Gérard Robert

Good value for money. Good meal. Excellent service, no need to ask for a carafe of water or bread. Lovely place, great atmosphere. An address to remember and share without hesitation.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The sea bream was delicious. The dish was well-balanced, a real treat. The service and atmosphere were excellent. It was perfect for a lovely family meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you to Amélie for her kindness.

We had a wonderful time as a family. The staff are very friendly and even chat with the children about their day on the slopes. The meal was excellent and generously portioned. We've been coming for the past two or three years and we're never disappointed. Really very pleasant. Served quickly.

Our first evening in Bourboule. We didn't know that reservations were required at all restaurants. This was the only restaurant that accepted us without a reservation. The lady with short hair was very welcoming and pleasant, and she found us a table right away. The service was quick and friendly, except for the lady with the blonde bob, who could smile a little more and speak a little less sharply, but with the rush, it's understandable (being in the restaurant business myself). Our daughter had the Roma pizza, which was very good: thin crust, lots of cheese and ham. My husband had the truffade with sausage, which was very good with the shallot sauce. I chose a warm goat cheese salad, which was very generously topped, and the vinaigrette was superb with the walnuts. We chose a crème brûlée, which was very, very good. My husband loved the caramel tiramisu. I had the "gourmet tea," which included the tiramisu, crème brûlée, and chocolate mousse. Everything was very good except for the chocolate mousse, which was very dense and a bit grainy, not airy at all. If I were to have just the mousse for dessert, I wouldn't be able to finish the whole tub. We liked the decor, which I think is a bit dated, but we didn't mind that it didn't match the menu. I recommend this restaurant. Our bill came to 87 euros, including two drinks and three desserts.

Pleasant welcome. Generous portions. Second seating in a very quiet room, which is quite pleasant.

We had a lovely time at this restaurant. We received a warm welcome, the staff were pleasant, and the food was truly delicious. The decor is charming and unique. If I'm ever back in La Bourboule, I'll definitely eat here again.
