Le Grand Hotel sur Chateau-Du-Loir

The food was excellent and v.good value for money. My room was on the top floor up a long spiral staircase, with no offer of help with luggage. When the restaurant's not open, they do not serve drinks, even to guests. Sadly, this meant, no sitting on the terrace on my birthday, with a cold rosé on a scorching day. There was no WiFi in my room which meant no internet connection and no satellite channels . I spoke to the manager about this and she raised her eye brows and said that there should be.

A truly wonderful family moment at the Grand Hotel 🐣 There were six of us to enjoy the Easter menu… and it was a real success. A welcoming table, delicious dishes, and that little extra touch that makes all the difference. You can taste the work in the kitchen, the attention to detail, and above all, the desire to please. A meal that simply warms the heart. Thank you for this delightful experience; we will gladly return.

We came for lunch after the flea market and were lucky enough to enjoy the new terrace. A real treat. The setting is pleasant and peaceful, perfect for relaxing after the morning's activities. The welcome is warm and the service attentive; you immediately feel at ease. As for the food, nothing to complain about: it's delicious, beautifully presented, and generous. A wonderful place in the area; we'll gladly return.

For me, it's about the restaurant itself. The welcome was very good, and the beginning of the meal was excellent. However, the main course was inedible; the tuna was far too salty. We pointed it out, but didn't get a discount. We left the tuna as it was, except for a tiny piece that fit on a teaspoon to taste. It's a shame because, being from Château, I could have gone back with guests. I think that's not going to happen for now. Another minor drawback is that the next course arrived almost as soon as we finished our plates; there wasn't even time to breathe. There's fast service and then there's fast service, especially since we hadn't said anything. And remember, the best advertising is word of mouth, not Facebook.
