Le Guinguet sur Narbonne

I just had a wonderful time in the beautiful city of Narbonne. I highly recommend this place—and it truly is one. Thank you for the warm welcome and the quality of the food. I was particularly taken with the Rosas anchovies, which are presented in a very original way, and the daily special. Hurry, I'm afraid it will be closing in mid-October and will remain closed until the end-of-year holidays 😉

For me, this is a must-visit in Narbonne. Ideally located on the canal under the trees, it's a real treat for the taste buds with its diverse menu. I didn't know what to choose, everything looked so tempting! I had a delicious and beautifully presented starter of anchovies 😋, and a suggested main course: subtly prepared salmon tartare, all served with a perfect white wine. The service and welcome were impeccable. If you haven't been to "Le Guinguet," go without hesitation; this restaurant is a gem.

In Narbonne, the Canal de la Robine shapes the city and the visitor experience. The shaded walks along the banks are lively. Overlooking the lock, the Guinguet offers a haven of peace with the soothing sound of water. The menu, written in chalk on a large slate, will make your choice difficult. In any case, don't miss the premium anchovies on the line with their tomato toast: you've never seen such a presentation! The gravlax was delicate (and thinly sliced); then for our main courses, we opted for pork from a local producer, prepared vitello tonnato-style. The homemade fries are worthy of being served in Belgium (according to my husband). The Lacaune pork tomahawk steak melts in your mouth next to its buttered potatoes. For dessert, the artisanal babas de ham delighted us, as did the homemade tarts and raspberry tarts. You can go to the Guinguet with your eyes closed.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. The dishes are generous and excellent, at reasonable prices. The cool, refreshing atmosphere by the canal is much appreciated.
