Le Laurencin sur Lyon

For the really low price for the set, I really did not set my expectations up high. I would like to say that the food was below average, but considering the price it's somewhat reasonable, I guess. However, since we just ate at a nice French restaurant the day before (admittedly where a main dish costs more than the cheapest set menu here, I was somehow felt a bit let down after this place. But it's probably more of my fault! Anyways, we ordered two sets and were unable to finish anything given. The onion soup tasted sour with too many pieces of bread in it. The steak was below what you'd find at Asian street markets. The best part about the duck (?) was the dauphinoise potatoes below it, which was probably the best made thing here. The profiteroles were dried ones from the supermarket (I guess deep down I naively thought they would be freshly made), and likewise with the ice cream which had a very cheap texture and flavor. It's a classic case of getting what you paid for. If you do decide to eat here, go for the more expensive set menus or something a la carte. The stuff I see on other tables seem to be much more dignified. For the restaurant, perhaps they could get rid of the lowest-end set menu? Also, the lady who seemed to be the manager seemed very... sad? :( the waiters were all very kind though!

Wow, I didn't expect that for 17€ per menu! While most corks offer a 3 course for around €35/40, Le Laurencin offers it at €16.9. Beyond the price, the cuisine and service are simply impeccable. Smile and omnipresent courtesy! I advise: - Onion Soup - Bavette and Gratin dauphinois - Profiteroles or Tarte Tatin I will come back very soon!

Local cuisine at a reasonable price

Very good value for money. Considering the price it's difficult to do better. The place is nice and you really come out without feeling hungry.. We will come back. THANKS

I recommend this place to anyone looking for good value for money. The welcome is always excellent and the food is good.

My dream bouchon in Lyon, the city of gastronomy😍Other restaurants were expensive and difficult to try, but I chose this one because it had a course for 18€! Even if we ordered a bottle of wine, it was about 52€ for two people! The taste was homey, the portions were perfect, and the Lyonnaise was very delicious. It seemed to be popular with Asians.

Nice restaurant, pleasant waitress, generous meal

A bouchon is the equivalent of an inn in Spain. A place to share the table with other people, perhaps travelers, and enjoy homemade food, typical of the area. The bouchons in the old quarter of Lyon are touristy restaurants but this one at least is cheap and the food is pretty good. The service is very good here, the waitresses work quickly and in my case they were kind enough to assist me in my horrible French
