The meat was undercooked twice. The mussels were tiny and tasteless. The service was particularly sloppy on several occasions. The quality of this establishment has declined in recent years. It's a real shame!

We were lucky and got the last free table (outside) without a reservation. The service was very good and fast. The food, consisting of burgers and mussels, was delicious, and the portion size and price were perfectly reasonable. Drinks were rather expensive.

Caution is advised when choosing a restaurant in a tourist area, but Le Lion d’Or was wrong! The welcome was warm, the cuisine excellent and original (the Comté and truffle croque monsieur is to die for!). The service was top-notch, friendly without being intrusive, and they even spontaneously offered our dog a bowl of water (a thoughtful touch!). In short, a very pleasant experience. Thank you to the kitchen and the staff.

Passing through Saint-Malo, we stopped at Le Lion d'Or for lunch today where we had a fantastic meal: a baked egg with gorgonzola and truffle—absolutely divine! 🤤 The mussels with gorgonzola were also delicious; the waiter had warned me they were small at the moment, which I appreciated—they were simply excellent! 😍 And the chicken burger was perfect!! The waiter was smiling and super friendly; we'll be back!

Excellent food. Super location. In general staff is nice but tired after heavy season. Our food was succulent. I had the cheeseburger super , French fries delicious and a lot. Second plate moules little small but very good. We were lucky to find that place. Super top. !! Highly recommended

We started our evening at Brasserie du Lion D’Or very positively. The service was good, and our first course was really lovely. Unfortunately, from there, the experience went downhill. The steak was overcooked and was more of a minute-steak style preparation rather than the substantial cut of steak we were expecting. The fish and potato dish was also not really to our taste. We appreciate that it was a different style of dish, but unfortunately it just wasn’t our thing. The waiter came to collect our plates, asked what was wrong and took the dishes away. However, after this, the waiter never returned to our table to check on us or ask if we wanted any more drinks or desserts. We were left waiting around 20–30 minutes and eventually had to ask for the bill ourselves. It’s a shame because we had such a good start to the evening. We appreciated the gesture of removing the two main courses from the bill, but better follow-up service after the issue would have made a big difference to our overall experience.

An excellent place! The service is particularly quick and efficient. The dishes are excellent, with a special mention for the scallops which were simply delicious and perfectly cooked. As beautiful as it is tasty, I recommend it 100%!

25/10/2025: A great seafood restaurant right on the harbor with a lovely atmosphere. We visited twice for dinner and were very satisfied. A friendly welcome and a great menu. The second time, the service was a bit slow and not as warm and welcoming.

What immediately struck us was the impressive breadth of the menu. From classic buckwheat galettes to numerous specialties and a wide selection of sweet crêpes, the options are truly plentiful. We had consulted several establishments before making our choice and found nowhere else such a diverse range of choices. It's hard not to find something you love! The setting is just as charming, with a warm and typically Breton atmosphere: wood, stone walls, exposed beams, and pretty tiled tables give the dining room a lot of character. Another great feature is the open kitchen, which allows you to see the food being prepared and the staff at work. We always appreciate this type of layout, which fosters a sense of conviviality and transparency. On the plate, the quality is undeniable: beautiful buckwheat galettes generously filled, accompanied by a particularly fresh and crisp salad. A detail that speaks volumes about the care taken with the ingredients. And to finish in style, indulge in a crêpe generously drizzled with homemade salted caramel. Simple, delicious, and undeniably Breton! 😋 Finally, we must highlight the quality of the service and the very friendly interactions with the staff. A natural and welcoming atmosphere that fully contributes to the enjoyment of the experience. Between the exceptional variety of the menu, the freshness of the ingredients, the authentic setting, the open kitchen, and the friendliness of the staff, we had a wonderful time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A crêperie we wholeheartedly recommend when visiting Saint-Malo's walled city!
