Le Menestrel sur Carcassonne

Fantastic Cassoulette!! Ideal for groups. In the city of Carcassonne

We had breakfast here, and the omelette is very good. The bread could be served toasted or warmed but it is fine anyway.

We ordered the menu for two people: first onion soup and mixed salad, second chicken schnitzel and the typical cassoulet and desserts fresh cheese and a sugar crepe. The food was good and tasty, as well as in quantity. The desserts were very good, especially the crepe, it had a creamy and sweet dough that pleasantly surprised us. The prices were normal considering the area and the restaurants (menu €19.90 p.p.). What should be noted is that if you order mineral water (so that it is not tap water) they charge you €7 for a 1 liter bottle. It must be said that the atmosphere was charged due to the fact that there were a lot of people at meal time (around 1pm) and the waiters were very busy and it was obvious that they were in a hurry and under stress. Still, we really liked the food we had at Le Menestrel.

We were a bit hesitant after all the bad reviews. But we really wanted to sit in the sun. We had a really delicious meal! Didn't last long either. Even though the terrace was full.

According to google maps there are two places, Le Menestrel and Le Marcou. However it appears that they are the same place under Le Brasserie. The menu we had was with the Le Menestrel logo even though we walked in the Le Marcou. We got the 18.9 euro menu and it was a lot of food. We were more than full. The servers were friendly and happy. I had the mixed green salad, Cassoulet and apple pie. While my partner had the Onion soup, chicken breast and yoghurt (which is listed on th menu as cheese). The mixed green salad was amazing it had a really yummy dressing and lots of favour. The Cassoulet was good with tasty sausage and duck. However sadly by the end it had gotten a bit dry with all the beans and minimum sauce. Onion soup was alright however tasted a bit bland. The chicken breast with fires was disappoitning. The chicken didnt really taste or look like a normal chicken breast. The fries were also a bit sad. Dessert was alright even if a bit simple.

Incroyable ! Très copieux, à moindre prix. Service très agréable, personnel souriant et surtout gros big up à Yassine, reste comme tu es ne change pas !

Incroyable! Tout simplement Incroyable. A la recherche d'un restaurant un soir de février dans la cité médiévale. Et la chance que nous avons eu de tombé sur cet havre de nourriture et surtout sur notre ange gardien Yassin. Merci pour tout et je conseille vivement à tout de s'y rendre.

No nos hemos comido el plato y los cubiertos de casualidad. Estaba muy bueno. El menú de 18,90 es muy completo y no te quedas con nada de hambre. Cogimos la ensalada mixta, uno de nosotros la sopa de cebolla (y estaba muy buena), de segundo la cassolete (uno de nosotros cogió los escalopines de pollo y súper bien). De postre la crepe. Muy recomendado. Además, el camarero se portó genial con nosotros, poniéndonos un muy buen sitio dentro, cerca del ventanal. Recomendado. Siento mucho la foto del plato ya vacío, pero es que estaba muy bueno!
