LE MISTRAL sur La Bourboule

This is the second time this restaurant has given us a very quick welcome with our Jack Russell and our greyhound, and frankly, I don't understand the negative reviews... Friendly welcome and normal value for money... It's a group of young people, and frankly, we were well received...

Thank you to 1886 for this wonderful experience. The team was particularly pleasant; there were eight of us, including a small dog. The service was excellent and very quick. We will gladly return.

We came to La Bourboule for a weekend, and around 7 pm we started checking out the restaurants near our hotel (Hôtel de Val Doré). At that hour, the restaurants were empty (we eat early 😉). We tried four restaurants and unfortunately, each time we got the same message (sorry, we're full). We finally decided to go back to the hotel and eat better tomorrow, lol. And then, miraculously, we found a small restaurant (Le 1886 on Clemenceau Street in La Bourboule). We walked in and were greeted with smiles from all the staff. They found us a table, even though it was busy because we'd been looking for 30 minutes... there were two of us, after all. It's a small but welcoming place, with a menu offering a good selection. Everything was delicious, and the bill was very reasonable. (We mustn't forget the manager for finding us a little table 😉 Thank you! If we're ever back in the area, I'll keep your card.) Thank you.

Based on the reviews, we were a little apprehensive, but honestly, we have no regrets. The welcome was truly fantastic. We arrived at 9 pm without a reservation, a party of eight, while other restaurants turned us away, but not them. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Both the quality and quantity were excellent. A big thank you! :) And long live the Niglos!

We were very happy to have stopped at this restaurant. We usually check the reviews, but luckily we didn't. We received a very warm welcome; everything is done to ensure customer satisfaction, even when there are children present. The food is excellent and very generous, and the Irish coffee is very good. We are from the Sarthe region and come to Mont Dore every year. We will definitely return to this restaurant and highly recommend it.

We arrived at 8 a.m. for lunch at 1:30 p.m. and received a very warm welcome. The food was Auvergne-style, including a delicious truffade. The place was clean. The service was pleasant and quick. We will gladly return... the Saumur family
