A restaurant in a magnificent house, tastefully decorated and in a very pleasant setting surrounded by nature. The cuisine is always inventive and delicious; a feast for the eyes first, then for the palate. The service is gentle and truly warm. I highly recommend Le Mot de la Faim.

The owners are lovely, and you immediately sense their dedication to customer satisfaction and their passion for their work. I have food allergies, and they accommodated me. However, I justify this rating with the following points: There were two of us, my daughter and I, and we waited an hour before our order was taken. Far too long... we were only brought a single bottle of water in the meantime. As a result, we lost interest in having an aperitif... (perhaps it would have been better to decline our last-minute reservation). The main course was generous, but the sweetbreads were cloying because, in my opinion, there was too much cream, or perhaps it was a mistake in preparation that day... my stomach and palate were so overwhelmed that I couldn't appreciate the flavor of the morels either, and I simply couldn't finish my meal. The gratin was very good. It was frustrating to have wasted fresh ingredients on such an expensive dish (€39). As a result, we didn't feel like ordering dessert. It's a shame, we were left wanting more... a difficult digestion, a disappointment, and a bill of €83 that unfortunately won't be among our fondest memories. The menu might not be well-suited to the hot weather. The wine recommendation was perfect with the dishes. Best of luck to you. Sincerely.

The best restaurant in Saint-Claude...Perfect service and cuisine from start to finish.

Truly exceptional. First and foremost, the arrival is breathtaking, with dedicated parking and a lush, landscaped, and well-maintained outdoor space. After climbing the few steps to the front porch, the terrace offers its first tables. The nearby river provides a refreshing and tranquil atmosphere. Then comes the entrance, where the renovation has preserved the building's authenticity. Moldings, parquet floors, fireplaces, and mirrors—everything is there, and the restaurant's furnishings perfectly complement this incredible setting. Then comes the moment when, after a pleasant aperitif, the dishes arrive. The tuna tataki is perfect, enhanced by a sesame crust that finds its perfect expression in this dish. It's a generous portion, but my appetite compels me to finish it and eagerly await the veal chop. When it arrives, it's pure bliss. Perfectly cooked! The very reason why the price becomes almost irrelevant. Your taste buds are pampered by a virtuoso, unsurpassed in my kitchen, that much is clear. It's a delight. I confess I skipped dessert, so captivated was I by the two preceding courses. The review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the bill, which, considering the evening and without holding back on drinks, came to just under one hundred euros per person. This is perfectly reasonable given the quality of the experience, because a good meal is all about ambiance, service, and mastery of culinary art. Thank you.

Perfect, but a little too expensive.

The food was excellent, but don't be in a hurry, whether it's for the service (we arrived at 8:30 pm and weren't served until 11 pm), or especially for getting a table because they're always full (supposedly). Apart from that, no complaints.
