A lovely discovery at Le Petit Jardin this lunchtime, a warm welcome in a cozy and relaxing setting. We had lunch in the Bistro section and were delighted by the quality of the food; we will definitely return to the fine dining section as a wonderful menu awaits us there.

Beautiful setting and good service, but the food was bland. The plates were nicely presented but lacked generosity. After a four-course dinner, we were left wanting more. Despite this, it was a lovely evening in a beautiful setting, but not worth the price.

Following our visit to Le Petit Jardin, I give it a 10/10 in every respect: exceptional cuisine, top-notch service, and Charlie, our waitress, was incredibly kind and professional. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

What an EXTRAORDINARY moment!!!! From the moment we arrived until we left, everything was EXCEPTIONAL! The service was impeccable, personalized, attentive, and so full of kindness and empathy! To the team: THANK YOU! The cuisine was worthy of a top Parisian Michelin-starred restaurant (we are Parisians and regulars). Delicate, refined, elegant—a wonderful journey!!! From the amuse-bouches to the desserts, our taste buds exploded with flavor!!!! A firework display of tastes. To the team: THANK YOU! We will be back, much to our delight!

I must admit I was the first to be surprised by the subpar service. We had booked for 12 people (a company event) on December 18th. We waited for ages, without even being asked if we wanted appetizers. After an hour and a half, we'd barely received the starters; I had to leave for a meeting and return at 2:45 pm for my main course… no explanations were given about the dishes, and worst of all, the wine wasn't even offered for tasting (even the local bistro does that!). There were stains on the tablecloth, and the dishes were served at different times (the duck arrived after those who had ordered fish had already finished). And at no point were we asked if everything was alright, not even when we paid. In short, the service was catastrophic that day; for an €800 meal for 12, we expected better.

Top restaurant, sophisticated and expertly prepared dishes, an extensive and highly curated wine list with reasonable markups. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back! Top 5 restaurants in Montpellier.

Le Bistro Regent

18/01/2026: Okay, but nothing exceptional for this chain restaurant. It does the job. Well located, next to the city center. The setting is clean. We didn't have to wait, but it wasn't very busy that evening (it was raining). The service was good and friendly, but they missed some key details even though it was late (chipped plate, no food warmer, didn't offer extra fries, cleared the table a bit too quickly...). The food is good, with the usual minor flaws of this chain (meat a little tough, desserts a bit cheap). We still had a pleasant time; it remains a reliable option.
12/01/2026: I'm a regular at this bistro, but this time the experience was disappointing. We waited 25 to 30 minutes for our salmon tartare, which is hard to understand for a cold dish. Meanwhile, our friends had already received their main courses (duck breast and beef) and had to eat without my friend. We asked the waiter several times about the status of our order, and each time the answer was, "It's coming." I had to get up and go see the head waiter before our dish finally arrived in 3 minutes… We also asked for extra fries and salad. After another reminder, the waitress replied "yes" in a very unpleasant tone, as if we were bothering her. Admittedly, we insisted two or three times about the dish, but we were patient and understanding for a hot meal… not for a tartare, which should be served quickly. Note: They offered my friend a free dessert when her main course arrived late, but she didn't want it. Ultimately, since the extra salad was chargeable, they gave it to us for free. It was a nice gesture, but it doesn't make up for the lack of organization. It's a shame, because I usually enjoy this place, but this service really spoils the experience.
