Le Petit Voisin sur Albi

The cassoulet was excellent, as was the apple tart (I don't know the proper word for it). It was all very filling for me, though I am a fairly petite woman. I think it was because I was an early bird (for France; I arrived when it opened haha...6pm) but they were very generous giving me an amuse bouche and topping up my cocktail! They don't speak any English so I got by with my rather limited French, but they made me feel welcome all the same. If you really have to rely on Google Translate, try to sit outside or near the door because there is little signal at the back of the restaurant, and there's certainly going to be none in the downstairs room. I am not wealthy; I don't think I've ever given a tip more than £1, but I gave them €4 because of how friendly and quick the service was :)

We stumbled upon this restaurant while strolling through the narrow streets near the cathedral. The welcome was very pleasant, even though the owner was a bit over the top. A small amuse-bouche was served with our aperitif. The beef tartare lacked seasoning, even though the meat was excellent, and the Southwest salad could have been a bit more organized and less abundant. We ordered à la carte, and the prices were a little high.

Excellent value for money; the food was delicious and well-presented. The beef and duck breast were cooked to perfection. A charming little street.

Excellent restaurant, warm welcome, and as a bonus, double portions of dessert for the children. 😂 Because, as the verbal agreement stated, they finished their plates...
