Le Poggio sur Tours

The meal was excellent, but the service was unresponsive and slow. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty at the time (end of service), on a Saturday at 2 pm, the servers took 20 minutes to bring our coffees because they were resting or chatting amongst themselves and not working. After several attempts to get our coffees back, we decided to give up on ordering desserts and coffees and left. It took far too long to have at least four or five people in the dining room working and not moving because they seemed unwilling to help. This gives a very bad impression of the restaurant, which is a real shame because the meal itself was excellent.

We've been using this great spot in southern Tours for years and we're always very happy with our culinary break. The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. The food is high quality, both in terms of the ingredients and the people who prepare it. Perfectly seasoned and delicious, a real pleasure. Keep it up, we'll be back! Thank you! Passing by 15 days ago, the welcome was, as always, perfect, but the food was exceptionally bad! I ordered a calzone as usual, and halfway through eating it, there were eggshells everywhere... no problem, they remade it without asking, so I took it away because I wasn't very hungry anymore... and that evening, while enjoying it with a small cake... no egg in it! So no shells! And I complained... That scoundrel of a chef! The shop is fine, but not him!

Getting a table for 6 at 7:45 pm for 8:15 pm on a Saturday night isn't always easy. But at Poggio, it's no problem. We received a very warm welcome, and our young waiter took great care of us. I deducted one star for the food because the children's hamburger was way overcooked, but it was quickly replaced. Otherwise, everything was perfect. This is our fourth visit, and we'll definitely be back. A little tip: since the bill isn't covered by health insurance, a loyalty card would be a nice touch 😉

Overall, we had a pretty good meal, despite the slight lack of truffle flavor in my pasta. The only minor drawback was that we were seated outside in the heat without being given a chance to ask. But the staff were excellent.

Despite an atmosphere rated 3/5, because it was Tuesday evening and it was quiet, the servers are pleasant, and the food is simply exquisite. The products on the tapas plate and the escalope with its ham and the marsala sauce are to die for, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I booked a table at this restaurant for a surprise birthday party for my husband. From the atmosphere to the meal, the entire team went the extra mile to make this surprise evening perfect. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly kind. The value for money was excellent. What's more, without me even asking, they took the initiative to bring dessert with a candle. In short, the team and the meal are worth far more than 5 stars. A huge thank you to everyone! We will definitely be back!

We often eat at Poggio with a training group. The servers are always friendly and the service is quick. Furthermore, the menu offers a wide selection of generous dishes, all of good quality and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it.
