Le Pre aux Clercs sur Dijon

Nice restaurant, and we had a table in a private room, which was very convivial. However, there was a slight downside in terms of value for money, as for a fine dining establishment, the dishes offered were rather simple… And there wasn't much choice for dessert… The food was still good, though… We had a very good time as a family, and the staff was friendly (except that at one point during the service, a waitress removed a dish and stained our son's sleeve, and she didn't apologize, which was a bit of a letdown…).

I don't know what to say, I'm disappointed, but I'll try to be as objective as possible. The service was slow and amateurish. The pea soup was good but underseasoned. The trout in Vin Jaune sauce was good and well-cooked, served with a cauliflower "tabbouleh," also unseasoned. The cauliflower was black in places, so it had clearly been cut a while ago, and it was mixed with Romanesco. The waiter went to the wrong table several times. The terrace wasn't full, and the staff wasn't overwhelmed, otherwise I could have understood. We're still waiting for our coffees. I don't like to complain, so we ended up leaving after mentioning it. I really admire Georges Blanc's work, so seeing his name associated with such amateurishness makes me rather sad.

We came here for dinner on a friend’s recommendation. Dijon has plenty of excellent restaurants, but if you want to enjoy an evening right on the square in front of City Hall, this place has a charm of its own. The food was very good and a satisfying way to experience the flavors of Burgundy. I only wish the wine list were a bit more reasonably priced. What really stood out was the service from *Benoit*. He was warm, attentive, and thoughtful, and every recommendation he made was a good one. The dessert he suggested was especially memorable — without him, we probably would have missed it altogether. Service felt a little rushed at the busiest point of the evening, which was understandable given the crowd. Once things settled down, though, it was clear that the staff were keeping a thoughtful eye on the tables around us. Looking back, our dinner here remains one of the best memories of the trip, and Benoit was an important part of what made the evening so enjoyable. I’d gladly come back the next time I’m in Dijon.

Never disappointed during our annual visit. Sometimes the flavors could be a little more balanced, but the offerings are original. Suitable for vegetarians. I actually miss the veggie burger they offered a few years ago; it was amazing! ☺️ The final blackcurrant fruit paste is delicious.

Fourth visit in a year. We always have a great time, whether indoors or outdoors. The setting is magnificent, the staff is incredibly attentive, and the cuisine perfectly complements the experience, paired with excellent wines.

August 15th, sweltering heat, we were a table of 16. I arrived first and was greeted immediately with a smile, fresh water, and more smiles. Everything went smoothly. The 16 guests ordered somewhat haphazardly, yet everything was served with perfect timing, not a single hitch. The carafes of ice-cold water arrived without us having to ask (as unfortunately often happens). In short, a perfect experience, big thumbs up, we highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful time as a family. The food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

A wonderful evening with refined and perfectly balanced cuisine! The owner's recommendations for wine pairings were very helpful. All the staff were attentive.
