Le Relais Caladois sur Villefranche-Sur-Saone

A first visit, but not the last… the owner's welcome was more than friendly. The shower was great, the atmosphere was good, the food was very reasonably priced – an address not to be missed.

It's a simple, basic restaurant for long-haul truck drivers. We ended up there and had a good, plentiful meal. You have to be flexible for such unexpected encounters.

The owner is really great. Kind, welcoming, and friendly. The parking lot is probably the only slight downside… it fills up quickly, so you have to arrive early. Oh yes, the owner is also a magician… 🤓

Warm welcome. Pleasant surprise.

The starter is served buffet-style. If they have celery remoulade, I highly recommend it, as the seasoning was absolutely perfect. The only downside is that to pay for your meal, you have to push your way through a crowd of people at the bar. It would be better if this area were moved to a more accessible location, or if they could invite people having their aperitifs to do so at their tables.

Absolutely fantastic, super friendly, and the food is great.
