Almost 7 years ago we visited Parc Hôtel Obernai for the first time and loved it straight away. The food, the spa that had just opened back then, and the atmosphere made it a place we kept coming back to whenever we were in Alsace, even if just for dinner.
We stayed at the hotel again recently, and a lot has changed. I didn’t expect it to top our earlier visits, but it did.
The new building is gorgeous. I love the design - the lighting makes you look great even with messed up hair and a red face from the spa.
The restaurant was already strong, but is now even better. Local ingredients with Asian influences, dishes that feel balanced, and portions that are the right size. What really made the evening was the service. The team at the cocktail bar was sharp and friendly, and our waiter Enzo made the night. Easygoing, good sense of humor, and great advice on wine. After asking he (and the chef) were very enthusiastic about doing the shared dining concept. Food, drinks and service 10/10.
It’s a bit more expensive than what it was 7 years ago but worth every penny in my opinion.
