Le Restaurant L'O a la Bouche sur Les Contamines-Montjoie

Living in Les Contamines, we had been wanting to try this place for a while. It was a wonderful discovery, both in terms of the location and the food: perfectly balanced portions, fresh, seasonal produce, and original flavors. We will gladly return.

As regular customers of this restaurant, we are always warmly welcomed. The place is minimalist yet inviting, and the food lives up to our expectations. Special mention goes to the raclette, which is always a hit!

Always an excellent experience. The food is perfect, the seasonings are perfect, the staff is very pleasant, and the value for money is unmatched in any other restaurant. The best restaurant in Contamines-Montjoie; when you compare the prices of other restaurants to the quality of the food offered here, there's no contest.

Wow! At L’O the food was incredible - every dish felt like a delicacy. We had the three course set menu which to our surprise also came with two additional small dishes as a first appetiser (carrot mousse and veal) and a first dessert (caramel mousse?). We had the roasted tuna with pineapple salsa for starter, which came similar to a lightly seared tuna but with a light crispy coating on the outside - very satisfying to have the crunch alongside the soft and delicate texture of the rare tuna. My main was grilled beef tenderloin which was again cooked to perfection medium rare (served as you request). The accompaniments for the beef were also incredible including a whole roasted shallot which was so tender and with such a deep umami flavour. For dessert I had the chocolate passionfruit which was also very enjoyable. Wait staff were wonderful, they made the place feel warm, welcoming and comfortable. They were so pleasant to talk to and were helpful with the food and wine menus. My friend is unable to eat gluten and the team were very accommodating to this with multiple options available. Atmosphere was relaxed yet refined. I could tell others around us were enjoying their meals as much as we were. The meal was surprisingly good value given the outstanding quality, coming at €100 for the three course meal (really five course with those two additional dishes) for two people including 1x€10 supplement for the beef tenderloin and a glass of wine each. Thank you! We are visiting the area but would want to return just for L’O!

What a delightful and timeless experience! We discovered the restaurant during our stay, and everything was perfect. The friendliness, the flavors, the discoveries, the atmosphere, and so much more. A first visit, but definitely not the last!

A perfect experience, undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I've been to recently. Excellent value for money and a very nice balance of flavors.

Best meal I had on my two week trip to France and Greece. Ordered the menu of a starter, main and dessert - tiger fish ceviche, steak and a chocolate pyramid. Everything tasted amazing and the steak was a good portion size. Love their innovative approach to French cuisine!
