Le Roi d'Ys sur Le Mans

A crêperie nestled in the heart of Le Mans. The savory buckwheat crêpes (galettes) vary in their filling, some being quite disappointing. The sweet crêpes (crêpes) have inconsistent flavors. Service is quick, but the smell of bleach is very unpleasant on several occasions. The open area near the dishwashing area is noisy, and there's also the smell of hot dishes. It's a shame: it spoils the nice concept of making crêpes in front of the customers.

The best crêperie in Le Mans! My parents introduced me to this amazing restaurant when I was very young, and for at least 25 years, I've never been disappointed. The galettes and crêpes are delicious; it's a real treat with every bite 😋 The team is fantastic, and thank you again for your warm welcome ☺️

It's always a pleasure to eat galettes and crêpes at Le Roi d'Ys. For 35 years, I've returned whenever I'm in Le Mans. Each time I'm amazed by the consistency of the work done both in the dining room and the kitchen, and I always enjoy the food: simplicity and generosity are the order of the day! Thank you!

By far my favorite restaurant in Le Mans! A menu with lots of choices, pancakes always cooked to perfection and delicious, a warm welcome, an interior faithful to the buildings of old Le Mans. And the little extra in my eyes: a well-behaved dog can enjoy the terrace 😊

Visiting Sarthe to spend some quality time with family, we booked a table at this crêperie. The welcome was warm, and the first step into the crêperie transported us to Brittany. On the ground floor, we watched the chefs prepare the galettes and crêpes before our eyes. The staircase leading to the first floor is a bit cramped, but you can request a table on the ground floor when booking. The menu offers a wide selection of galettes and salads, as well as crêpes and ice cream. The ingredients used are of exceptional quality, and the service was impeccable, although a little slow due to the restaurant's popularity. The server was friendly, personable, and incredibly kind. We will be delighted to return on our next visit to Sarthe.

An absolutely exceptional experience! We're from the south of France and had never eaten at a crêperie of this caliber before. Everything was perfect: delicious and generous galettes, sweet crêpes to die for, and a warm and professional welcome. You can feel the passion and quality in every detail, from the selection of ingredients to the presentation. The only problem now... is that we don't know how we'll ever find a crêperie this good anywhere else! A big congratulations and a huge thank you to the whole team 👏

We came on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant is small but very friendly. The staff is lovely and friendly. We were served quickly, even though the room was full. The quality of the food is good, with generous portions. The prices are very affordable. I highly recommend it!
