Le Saint Hubert sur Beuvry-La-Foret

A pleasant place where the food is excellent and the staff are friendly.

A very peaceful natural setting at the crossroads of two small forest roads, 6 km from Marchiennes but within the Beuvry-la-Forêt municipality. A large open-air parking area is located directly opposite, equipped with an electric vehicle charging station for customers and a defibrillator. There is a very spacious outdoor terrace under awnings. A receptionist and a top-notch waitstaff are on hand. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, the food is good, and there are excellent beers and wines to pair with the dishes. A generous and exceptional steak tartare with leek sprouts, and a fabulous dessert made for a perfect first meal at this restaurant-café, which I'm sure I'll be returning to soon, even if you're coming from Tourcoing or Lille via the A23 towards Valenciennes, taking the Orchies exit, then following signs for Beuvry-la-Forêt and Marchiennes. I'd love to explore the whole area, either after a 9km hike (the Abbey trail is recommended) or a mountain bike ride. My best discovery of this summer of 2026, which has often been too hot and dry.

My first time at La Croix ou Pile, and I wasn't disappointed! The setting is magnificent and a real change of scenery, right in the heart of the forest. The bar is very pleasant, and the premises are clean and well-maintained. We were a group of 11 people and received a very warm welcome (without a reservation). A big thank you to our waitress, Julie, who was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive at all times. She greatly contributed to making our experience wonderful. I highly recommend it and will gladly return!

We've been customers for several years. The setting is very pleasant, right in the middle of the forest. It's a shame the appetizer platters are gradually decreasing in quantity. The young staff also seem a bit unsettled; you can tell they've been thrown in at the deep end without seating plans and are having trouble finding their tables. It must have been due to the start of the season...

A good place to eat in a very pleasant setting with attentive and smiling staff. The food is average, nothing bad, but nothing exceptional. A great starting point for lovely walks.

We came to relax a bit in this intense heat and enjoy a delicious ice cream with a drink... The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is calm, and large parasols on the terrace protect us from the scorching sun... dogs are allowed on the terrace (inside the restaurant in bad weather, ask them)... The owner and his team are polite and friendly, no complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend it for a relaxing and convivial time alone, with friends, or family. I think it's best to book in advance, especially if you're in a group... I recommend it 😉😉😉

The food, the atmosphere, and not forgetting the friendliness of the staff who met all our expectations.
