Brasserie worthy of a great starred restaurant. From the food to the service, everything was perfect.

Good morning, The service is very welcoming, everything was ok except my dish which was fish. This and its accompaniment were lukewarm, lukewarm which tends towards cold and served on a cold plate. I must have only said it when the plates were cleared.

We had a go at the St Laurent, a restaurant well located on the banks of the river La Saône in Macôn. Easy access passing the St Laurent Bridge, erected in the XI century and numerous parking places next to the restaurant. Warm welcome from the staff and as request, a table for 2 net to the window with a direct view on the river. The inside design is nice and well organised, restrooms are clean and well equipped. We found the ambiance a bit noisy, thanks to the 8 people next table, talking loudly... well, you know, culture stuff ;-) We had a go for the Menu @ €39 and a bottle of 'Fleurie - La Madone' a George Blanc's selection. The year was 2017 on the wines list, but we got a 2022... Dishes are well presented, but we have found that 'the tartare de boeuf' could be improved by adding less capers, as they are hiding the taste of the meat. Special mention for the tasty desserts. So, if you want a good break while in Macôn and are looking for a view as you're indulging yourself with classic dishes, I will recommend the St Laurent.

The courteous welcome, the recently renovated cozy setting and the cozy atmosphere of the Saint Laurent restaurant are faithful to the reputation of its tutelary figure, Monsieur Georges Blanc. The "express lunch" formula at €25 offers careful cuisine, without being original or "moving": Andouillette label rouge, red wine sauce and steamed rice timbale - Very nice plate of regional cheeses with extra charge - Lemon tart meringue revisited (destructured). Coffee Excellent wines by the glass accompanied this pleasant lunch at €56 per person... Notoriety and quality have a price!

The welcome is elevated to a level that could make the biggest tables pale! The meal is pleasant. The Saône is not to be outdone and invites itself to the table. And then comes the sentence: “Sorry, we don’t take checks”. And then the flattering impression falls like a bellows and gives the impression that this restaurant is ultimately quite ordinary!
