Le Venaissin sur Avignon

I'm giving this place five stars, hoping to redeem it for everyone, but it's a total disaster. The staff are incredibly enthusiastic, greeting customers in various languages ​​to create a perfect atmosphere of friendliness. The menu listed coffee as 2 euros. After two coffees arrived, the waiter didn't ask for payment immediately. Normally in France, you pay before the food, but here the food comes first, and you pay after you touch it. Then came a mixed coffee. I was so shocked I didn't dare drink it and quickly paid to leave. The bill came to 7 euros per cup, 14 euros for two. Arguing with the cashier was pointless; he insisted it was 7 euros per cup, 14 euros in total. In conclusion, the menu prices are misleading. You only find out how much you owe when you're about to pay, and the resulting disappointment might make you hate Avignon forever.

Fantastic welcome, great atmosphere, misting system on the terrace, fast service, excellent food. The only slight downside was the bagged salad, which wasn't great. A big thank you to the whole team for your joie de vivre! 😜

Place is not a two star. Food is low quality for sure but it was clean and fast. The area in general is pretty terrible for food. We had three kids meals and two entrees.

We received a very warm welcome when we went with friends (5 people) for happy hour 🍻 and were comfortably seated on the terrace with a misting system. Funny anecdote: our friend ordered a Perrier with lemon, and the slice of lemon cost her an extra 60 cents 😅🍋💸

Fabulous food!!!! Lovely experience, right across from the Hotel de Ville. Stop here. Even on a hot day, they have found a way to keep the patio cool.We had a omelette and pizza. Incredible🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had dinner at this restaurant out of necessity, as it's the only one in Avignon with a kitchen that stays open so late (we arrived around 10 pm). So, even though we were hesitant at first because of the reviews, we sat down (the only and last customers of the evening). The owners were very friendly, and the wait for our food was satisfactory. I opted for salmon pasta: very good and nicely presented! Nothing more. My friend had sea bream, which was unfortunately disappointing, as we were expecting a whole grilled fish. But it was edible, even if it was expensive for what it was. I won't go back, but it's not as bad as the reviews make it out to be!

The presence of a tout isn't necessarily a good sign (it seems to be becoming the norm at Place de l'Horloge). Comfortably seated (almost alone) on the terrace, the service was quick and friendly, and the Mediterranean salad was generous (perhaps a little too much lettuce and tuna) but tasty. All in all, a good lunch.

The pizza was bad, the dough was thin and hard, the lasagna small and greasy. The salad was torn into large pieces, like for animals. It's hard to chew in your mouth. For the price we paid it was too expensive considering the experiences with the restaurants where we ate so far. The waiter was helpful.
