Friendly welcome, the pizzas were good but not exceptional. However, the unbearable heat ruined our meal.

A transition is underway that will need support. We came as a group and had a really good meal. The pizza dough, as well as their toppings, were high quality. However, they could ONLY serve us pizzas, which was disappointing in this heat. Also, not a single beer was available. Finally, and surprisingly, the restaurant sign still bears its old name.

Discovered by chance on TheFork, Brazier is a nice restaurant. The service is good (the waitress is very friendly) and the pizzas are tasty. For the price, you get a good meal. However, the 50% discount only applies to pizzas. One thing puzzles me: the menu I was served only listed pizzas, while their website includes pasta, meat, etc. It would be better to specify on the website which items are eligible for the 50% discount. If the menu isn't the same as the one in the restaurant, then it should be updated.

We went to Verdi on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, during a trip to Lyon. After a meeting that ran a little longer than expected, we simply needed to find a quiet place to have lunch. Verdi was recommended to us. The prices seemed reasonable, so we went in. Our first impression was very positive. The dining room was calm, almost peaceful. Few customers, little noise, just enough activity to feel that the place was alive without ever becoming overwhelming. After the heat outside, the interior offered a pleasant respite. The welcome deserves special mention. The person who greeted us was smiling, natural, and attentive. Nothing extraordinary in her gestures, precisely. Simply that rare quality of making you feel expected rather than just served. The service followed the same rhythm. Less than ten minutes after we ordered, the pizzas arrived at the table. I had chosen a four-cheese pizza. My partner ordered a goat cheese and honey pizza. As is often the case, we swapped a few slices to try both. What struck me first was the crust. Crispy without being dry, light yet full of character. Then the cheese. A detail rarely noticed when it's ordinary, but immediately apparent when it's good. Here, it added real depth to the pizza. With the spicy sauce that was spontaneously offered, the whole thing took on another dimension. The portions were just right, not excessive. Just enough to enjoy the meal. My partner likes pizza, but she almost never finishes them. After tasting mine, she finally gave me the last quarter of her goat cheese and honey pizza directly onto my plate. A decision I promptly honored with the utmost seriousness. Some responsibilities are not to be questioned. On my way to the restroom, I passed what appeared to be the pizza maker behind his workstation. A simple, sincere, and spontaneous smile. Just a few seconds. Yet, it's often these details that linger in the memory more than some carefully chosen decorations. The restrooms were also perfectly clean. However, not everything was of the same standard. When I paid with a 50-euro note, I was told there was a problem with the change. Not entirely clear whether some coins were missing or if only small bills remained, we simply found a solution: I paid the 50 euros and my partner paid the difference by credit card. Nothing dramatic, but it left me with a slight feeling of improvisation. Similarly, departure was quicker than arrival. The welcome had been particularly warm; the goodbye, however, already seemed focused on the rest of the day. In the end, I'm left with the memory of a reliable, consistent, and pleasant place. A pizzeria that doesn't try to impress but does what it sets out to do well. Good food, a genuine welcome, quick service, and a relaxing atmosphere. For lunch as a couple, with friends, or with family, it's a place I readily recommend. Simple things, when done well, are the most memorable.
