Prices seem reasonable but not given the quality of food in hindsight. I almost always check ratings but forgot to today to my mistake. A lot of the ratings are harsh if my experience is anything to go by- the food is very mediocre but I didn’t appreciate the disproportionate extra charges on the set menu. Beers too expensive as well.

A very warm welcome, excellent food. I personally had the set menu with a charcuterie and cheese platter—a lovely combination—followed by a rare ribeye steak with fries, accompanied by a cream and mushroom sauce, and a chocolate tart for dessert...my goodness, everything was perfect! I even asked the waitress for a container to take my half of the steak home...perfect! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

We can’t really understand the bad reviews. The food was very delicious and the service was excellent. The prices are a bit expensive, but understandable given the location. We would gladly come back again.

I don't understand the bad reviews...we ate very well. The service was quick and efficient, and the young woman was very friendly. She speaks English and Spanish, which is a real plus. We were served quickly, and everything was delicious...this restaurant absolutely does not deserve these bad reviews.

The food was AMAZING. I had the vintage burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Decent price, nice ambiance, very friendly and polite staff. Definitely recommend and I would visit again.

Uncomplicated menu, good value for money. We had the set menu which had a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts. Inside and outside seating. Relaxed atmosphere.

We ate there and the food was very average, not homemade at all. Considering the location very close to Carcassonne Castle, the €19.90 set menu was disappointing. The cold cuts were disappointing, the salad was good, and the calamari was from a frozen bag. The service was fine, and the prices are in line with other restaurants in the area.

22/05/2026: We had a very good meal, a set menu with a salad and the duck confit, it was great! The waiters were very kind and helpful!
20/05/2026: An incredible welcome! The young waiter with the curly hair was absolutely fantastic. The meal was wonderfully generous, we had a great time, and the waiter and all the staff made us laugh. I highly recommend it; don't listen to the other reviews—they're just jealous of my son.

Restaurant du Petit Puits

20/07/2026: We went as a family to lunch at Le Petit Puit during our visit to the medieval city of Carcassonne. I was surprised to see such poor reviews for this restaurant, as our experience was quite different. The welcome was very warm, and we chose the set menu for €15.90. Frankly, at that price, in a touristy area like this, I don't see what more people could expect. For us, it was perfectly adequate. The starter (salad with terrine or goat cheese) was nicely presented, the chicken in cream sauce with fries was simple but good, and the floating island dessert was a pleasant way to end the meal. Unpretentious, home-style cooking, but satisfying for the price.
19/07/2026: Delicious food and very friendly staff. I recommend it.
