L'endroit sur Sarlat-La-Caneda

Bavette was good, the peppercorn sauce too watery and very overpowering. And the "salad"? Well, unimaginative as you can see in the photo, as well as the dressing with something that looks like balsamic vinegar. And that doesn't go well with fries. A milder, creamier peppercorn sauce would have been my preference. Better with the bavette *and* the fries. Friendly service.

Hearty and frankly delicious dishes. We came as a family, and we made a great choice 😉

A really good place, reasonable prices, and the food was excellent, although I would have liked more Sarlat-style potatoes with my confit. I recommend the all-duck menu. Special mention to the waitress who went above and beyond.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is unpretentious and offers a rather superficial introduction to local cuisine. The flavors are simple, and the food is decent overall, without being particularly memorable. The main drawback is the somewhat industrial feel of several products: the fries, foie gras, ice cream, sauces, and some dishes don't seem homemade. This is a shame, as it detracts from the authenticity and gives the impression of standardized food rather than genuine regional cuisine. The portions are also quite small, which leaves you wanting more, especially considering some of the prices. While the dishes are generally reasonable, the bill can quickly add up, particularly with drinks. For example, expect to pay €10 for a pint of beer, and the wines are also quite expensive. In the end, a decent place for a simple meal, supported by welcoming staff, but lacking the authenticity and generosity to fully convince.
