Good food, friendly service, excellent location, reasonable prices.

A lovely establishment located in a pedestrian zone at the foot of the castle. A wonderful welcome and excellent service with great friendliness! A daily special featuring quality ingredients at a very affordable price. The rest of the menu is also very reasonably priced. As tourists visiting the region for a day, we stopped here by chance and I highly recommend this establishment.

The welcoming and warm space allowed us to enjoy precious time with the children. The chicken rillettes were a real treat! Thank you, L’épicerie!

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant, just a stone's throw from the Château d'Amboise. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, which immediately puts you at ease. The food is delicious: we chose a perfectly prepared and very flavorful Fourme d'Ambert burger. I would only make one small reservation about the presentation of the burgers, which I found a little plain. However, this doesn't detract from their taste, especially since we noticed that the other dishes served that day—notably the scallop ravioli and the three-sorbet dessert—were beautifully presented. I also greatly appreciated the waiter's attentiveness: even before taking our order, he came to inform us which menu items were unavailable that day. This is a real plus, as I've previously missed this level of transparency in other restaurants. The location, right next to the Château d'Amboise, is ideal for a pleasant break after your visit. I highly recommend it!

Le Restaurant l’Épicerie is a must-visit in Amboise. The food is excellent and full of flavor, and the service truly can’t be beat. Just to clear up any confusion — the ownership has not changed. Aurora and her son Jacque-Charles still run both Le Restaurant l’Épicerie and the crêperie next door, and they do an amazing job at both. Their warmth and hospitality really make the experience. If you’re in Amboise, be sure to stop at both places. You won’t be disappointed

A great place to stop at the foot of the castle for a break, whether for coffee or lunch. The staff are attentive and responsive, even when it's busy. Special mention goes to the blankets available for enjoying a pleasant moment on the terrace, even in autumn. The prices are reasonable.

Hello, We arrived around 1:30 pm, a party of eight of us. The restaurant was full, but the owner suggested we go have an aperitif next door, promising us a table within half an hour. She offered to take our number so we could order before the kitchen closed (all the other restaurants had turned us away), which we did. After our aperitif, our table was ready, and we were served within minutes. The meat was very good and perfectly cooked, the fries were excellent, the crème brûlée was amazing, and the service was very pleasant. In short, I highly recommend it. Sincerely

We had a wonderful time at the grocery store. The food was delicious, the setting very pleasant with the castle right across the street, and the period half-timbering gives the restaurant a lot of character. And the service was more than perfect, the waiter extremely friendly with a great sense of humor, and the owner truly lovely. We'll definitely be back!
