L'épicerie Georges sur Nice

What a wonderful place: small bistro tables with red/white checkered tablecloth, simple menu and, above all, very good food. I ate a warm camembert as an appetizer and pork leg as a main course. The host is a diva and adds extra character to the place. The cramped setup ensures that you automatically start chatting with the other guests. Fantastic! There are two shifts: one at 7pm and one at 9pm. Reservations were necessary even at the end of September.

What a meal! We booked on a friend's recommendation and it couldn't have been better. We shared a starter of carpachio zucchini and mains we got the pork knuckle and the beef cheek, everything was outstanding, packed full of flavour and just utterly delicious. The service was fantastic, and the open kitchen was great to watch. Book ahead as this place gets busy FAST!

Best meal in Nice. A perfect French dining experience.

We feel lucky we managed to snag a table for dinner at this cozy restaurant. It’s unassuming from the street, but you don’t want to miss it! The food was incredible, particularly our mains. The beef tartare with truffle was unbelievable, and also an enormous portion I couldn’t finish though I really wanted to. The sides were lovely and the beef cheek was tender and flavourful. Our chocolate fondant dessert was served fresh and hot from the oven, incredibly rich and melt in your mouth delectable! The service wasn’t great, but nothing feels more authentically French than a server who barely acknowledges you. Despite that we still can’t recommend eating here enough!

Absolutely delicious. I had the beef cheek stew, my wife had the tartare, and we could not get over the flavours. Felt like an elevated home-cooked meal. It did feel like we were inconveniencing the waiter every time we interacted, which was unfortunate, but who cares we are dumb tourists I get it. Eat here!

This is the most authentic French experience I’ve had while visiting Nice. A “no BS” and exquisite restaurant with amazing food!

I had a lamb shank here and it was to die for. The staff are lovely and place is small, I went midweek at opening time and had a table. They have nice wines but limited soft drink selection. The espresso was fab too.

We had a lovely dinner at this intimate little French restaurant. All of the food was fabulous especially the baked Camembert with truffle and the lamb shanks. Ended up spending £160 for three of us but that’s because we ate and drank loads!
