A small family meal, succulent duck breast, pork belly—how can I put it? The best dish I've ever had in a restaurant, it couldn't have been better.

The portions were fantastic, the Cassoulet was incredible—I couldn't finish it, and I have a big appetite! It would have been perfect for sharing. Perhaps it wasn't the right day; it was hot… It's meant to be similar to the traditional mountain stew, but without cabbage and with duck and pork (Chon), since it also had sausage… and it also has a similarity to Asturian bean stew, but only that: “a similarity.” It's different.
As for the meat with fries and salad, it was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly… The service was super attentive. Impeccable. Highly recommended.

A very good experience at Les Copains d’Abord, ideally located in the heart of the Carcassonne citadel with a lovely, pleasant terrace to enjoy the surroundings.
We received a very warm welcome from a friendly and welcoming gentleman, which immediately set the tone for the meal. The red wine was excellent, and the dishes were generally satisfying. We tried the cassoulet, foie gras, sausages, and fish and chips, and everything was delicious and well-presented.
The prices are, of course, what you would expect in a touristy area like the Carcassonne citadel, so no surprises there.
A great place to enjoy the setting while having a good meal.

A truly excellent place, especially if you want to eat a real, truly homemade cassoulet—delicious and generous! If you're looking for peace and quiet and a friendly owner, this is the place for you! We received a wonderful welcome and had a great time at the restaurant. And once again, I must say, DELICIOUS!

Reservation for 6 people made on a whim on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. A perfect welcome. The owner was so kind; we felt like we were among friends, even though we stayed until closing time.
The food is simple, but we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The taste of homemade goodness and generous portions were evident.
All this at an excellent price, which is a definite plus!
A friendly and authentic restaurant, where we'd love to return and recommend.
A big thank you to the owner.

We went to eat at this restaurant for the second time today. The food is excellent, but unfortunately, we were very poorly served by the new waitress who didn't understand our order. We ordered porcini mushroom croquettes, a large fries, and a cheese platter, but we ended up with a small fries and just the famous porcini mushroom croquettes. Sometimes I wonder why anyone would go into this profession if they don't know how to do it properly... Anyway, it's a good restaurant, but the new waitress is a complete disaster. It's a real shame because the owner is super friendly and welcoming, and offers a very nice menu, so I wanted to mention it.
