From reviews a good day / bad day kind of place. Excellent on our day, sunshine, great waiter, food and wine. But it was mid afternoon and not busy.

We had lunch yesterday in this nice restaurant. The welcome is great, the service with a smile and - the main criterion - the delicious cuisine. We really enjoyed ourselves. I really recommend!

Passés devant par hasard et tard, nous nous sommes arrêtés et n'avons pas regretté. Service à toute heure, en continu (passage en mode brasserie vers 14h30/15h). Service efficace et agréable. Ardoise variée mais limitée, ce qui est plutôt bon signe. Une très jolie terrasse.

A good time on the well-shaded terrace. The recommended foie gras as well as the burger or duck confit. Good advice for choosing wine and good quality. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend.

A very nice address, attentive and very friendly staff, the terrace is very pleasant and shaded. Quality cuisine with fresh products. I highly recommend and do not understand their rating which is not justified in my opinion.

Very pleasant outdoor space with lots of shade. Dishes served with great taste, very pleasant flavors, good portions. Fair price. The service is a little slow and the friendliness isn't the best either.

I have to say I am surprised by some of the reviews criticising this restaurant. We have eaten there several times and have always enjoyed the food - we would not have been back otherwise. This time we had two starters because we were late for lunch and I knew we had a big meal coming up that night. I had foie gras and eggs in a cocotte with wild mushrooms. My wife had a gesiers salad and the plate of cold meats. We had what is the house red - Ch. Rose Cotes Rol, made by the uncle of the current owner. That can in no way be described as anything but good (except perhaps by those who know nothing about Saint-Emilion's wines and/or only like "Parkerised" ones.) This is a restaurant for those who like decent French food. Much as I like a good burger in a pub with a pint of good beer I would not expect it to be a speciality of the house here. It is worth noting that if you are late for lunch this place goes on serving a full menu until early evening.
