04/09/2024: Le Bec à Vin in Uzès is truly a charming place, with its medieval setting and its shaded garden. We went there twice, so yes, we liked it! The cuisine is excellent, based on fresh and local products, and perfectly highlights the flavors of the region. The wine list is also remarkable, with very nice selections. That said, there are a few areas for improvement. The boss, for example, could show a little more warmth. He has a slightly pedantic attitude and lacks a bit of empathy, which can make you uncomfortable. We feel that the staff are a little under pressure, which is a shame because they are friendly and professional. A word of advice: remember to book in advance, otherwise you risk finding yourself in a slightly embarrassing situation with a boss who doesn't immediately put you at ease. Finally, the lighting on the terrace could be redesigned: white light bulbs do not do justice to the atmosphere of the place. Warmer lighting would be much more suitable for creating a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. In short, Le Bec à Vin is worth the detour for the quality of its dishes and wines, but a few adjustments could make the experience even more pleasant.
