Les Quatre Saisons sur Besancon

The food at Les 4 Saisons absolutely deserves its many positive reviews. Both visually and in terms of taste, the dishes are outstanding. The ingredients appear high-quality, the presentation is very appealing, and the cuisine is consistently excellent. The pricing is also particularly noteworthy, being exceptionally fair and customer-friendly considering the quality offered. Unfortunately, the ambiance doesn't live up to the quality of the food. The restaurant is rather uninviting, the decor isn't particularly cozy, and there was a slightly musty smell. The service could also be more attentive, as we didn't always feel optimally looked after during our visit. Those who primarily value excellent food at fair prices will certainly be very satisfied here. However, for a truly enjoyable dining experience, there is still room for improvement in both the ambiance and the service.

Very disappointed with the experience, fish rillettes and salmon Glavelax-style were far too salty, asparagus was hot and not lukewarm, the floating island cream was tasteless, the rhubarb marmalade was disappointing, the small vegetables in the dish were overcooked... The prices are reasonable but the quality is not there.

Excellent value for money. A very warm welcome, whether you're a party of two or five with children. They readily offer to accommodate simple requests (starter instead of a main course, larger portions for a teenager, etc.).

No surprises here, the interior mirrors the exterior: simple, the decor simple yet warm... the welcome... very warm... and a genuine smile to boot. Customers... or rather, regulars... happy to be there. The food: pure bliss... fresh, homemade, and prepared with passion by a chef as unassuming as the greeting he gives to the customers... pardon, the gourmets present. Set menus (main/dessert, starter/main, or main alone) at competitive prices allow anyone to enjoy good food without breaking the bank. One regret... not having come here sooner. I think we'll become regulars 😃 but only if you stay true to yourselves.

We've dined here as a group of three, several times, and each time the experience has been perfect. The service is impeccable: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. The menu changes daily, making each visit unique and always enjoyable. You can feel a real commitment to offering fresh, homemade, and creative dishes. Special mention to the team: they knew what we were drinking before we even arrived and quickly remembered our names. This kind of attention to detail makes all the difference and makes you feel like a regular, welcomed like a friend. And a huge congratulations to the chef, whose work shines through in every dish: perfectly cooked, balanced flavors, meticulous presentation… a true pleasure every time. A place we happily return to and wholeheartedly recommend. 👌
