We very much enjoyed lunch at L'Equisse. We had, respectively, the three and four course set menus for midweek lunch, which are good value. Rather oddly, you're not told what the courses actually are until they arrive, though you can choose meat or fish, and they screen rigourously for allergies. The food was tasty, fresh, and made inventive use of seasonal ingredients. There's a good, very affordable list of aperitifs and wines. Service is friendly and prompt and staff speak English. We found the three course menu was pretty filling when you factor in the pre and post meal amuses bouches; I'm not sure we could have handled the six course menu, let alone the nine (from fellow diners it didn't seem like the course sizes were reduced in any way). The only slight let down was the very hushed atmosphere, a bit like eating in a library. Good for a very quiet intimate conversation, but not very lively or convivial. Still, the food and service would certainly draw us back.

We took the 6 course which was plenty of food. Delicious, vibrant, full of taste, not pretentious and yet fun and creative. It’s not our first time in a 1-star and we thought they deserve it.

We had dinner at this restaurant for my birthday, a last-minute reservation, and it was a truly wonderful discovery! I wasn't familiar with the five-course tasting menu concept, and I loved it. The dishes were already visually stunning, but the taste was incredible! Our server had excellent knowledge of the dishes, the ingredients, and the wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal while discovering new culinary combinations. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the thoughtful touches you made for my birthday. It was very much appreciated. I had a lovely evening at this restaurant. Congratulations to the entire team. We will gladly return.

A fantastic experience! The prices are very reasonable for the quality. The service is attentive without being overly formal—it's perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and loved the experience.

For context, this was my very first Michelin-starred meal. For the best experience, surprise is key, so I prefer not to include a photo with this review, and I advise you not to look at the dishes at neighboring tables. What can I say... It was excellent. Even foods I usually dislike became a delight here. Each element has a purpose, an ideal temperature, a specific order in the mouth, and everything is explained. And the menu is flexible: a diet, an allergy, a food nemesis—no problem. It's certainly an investment, but the experience is worth it. Seating is limited, so be sure to make a reservation.

The restaurant had superb cuisine and very competent and professional staff; I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely return. It was perfect.

This was a bit of a miss for me. It's not often that a 1 star restaurant doesn't deliver at least one really strong dish, but unfortunately at L'Esquisse there were none that excelled. Nothing was very creative, and the substance was quite minimal. I have no problem paying top dollar for top meals, but this genuinely felt like poor value for money. The service team were excellent though - describing the dishes well and bringing a very friendly manner to the lunch.

Food was mostly pretty good with a couple of misses, which probably relate to gluten free modification. The desert was the biggest miss, and it doesn’t feel good to dislike the end. Thank you for the gluten free accommodation.The service was good throughout. The atmosphere upstairs was average to poor, and it got hot; I started sweating. Nothing was like - WOAH. It was all good or even very good (except for desert), but just not wow good. It felt very clean and pure and fresh.
