L'Imparfait sur Bergerac

Absolutely excellent! Pleasant setting. Warm atmosphere.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, I recommend it 100%. The staff are friendly and lovely. The food is excellent, go for it without hesitation.

I have rarely seen such a perfect head waitress; she keeps the establishment afloat.

Firstly, I have visited your restaurant at least 15 times over the past 5 years and the majority of visits, we've had nothing but praise for the service, presentation, quality and taste of courses presented. However, our latest visit was very disapointed with every part of your normally, superb service. Firstly, our welcome to your restaurant was fairly lacklustre - a young, fairly surly waiter didn't provide much of a warmth welcome and our seating was not exactly what we asked for or wanted. our order's were taken, which was fine - both of us choosing the 3 course menu at €54 per person (plus 11€ extra per person for the steak option). The musebuche arrived, but was not up to what we would normally expect, in fact it was quite tastless and basic. Next arrived was the starter, again, we both ordered the foie gras - again, we both though it was quite tastless. Eventually, which was too late, the young waiter asked if we wanted some bread, which was ok - we were never offered anymire bread throughout our meal which has always been the case on previous visits. Then arrived the nain course, filet steak. The steak was quite small but nicely cooked. The meal, again, generally lacked flavour and ill thought out as there was no texture to the meal - the patato foam with truffle was really very bland and lacked any flavour at all. Finally, the deserts! Probably the worst we have had. Both of them looked as if they could have been massed produced and no thought to presentation was applied - we both did not finish our deserts! Finally, 2 of the plates that were put in front of us were chipped - should not have been used in a 'fine dining restaurant'. I am very surprised tgat the restaurant has earned a 'Michelin Guided' award for 2026 - certainly from our visit, the restaurant is dar from this standard. In summary, very disapointed and unlikely to dine here again.

We were celebrating a birthday on July 31st and had lunch at this lovely establishment – ​​turning 80 is definitely something to celebrate! 🥂 So we chose from the menu: caviar, foie gras (a generous portion), followed by the daily special, lobster with macaroni, which was simply delicious. The Chablis was perfect 👍 Then the rum baba and Pavlova were succulent 👏, as were the amuse-bouches and pre-dessert 👍 The cuisine was full of wow factor, flavors, and colors – we loved it! 👍 The atmosphere was also fantastic!! The wait staff were incredibly professional, yet relaxed and even very open to a joke 😉 and above all, incredibly attentive, taking the time to chat despite the restaurant being full 👏👏 In conclusion, L'Imparfait is a misnomer 😉 because it was truly PERFECT 👏👍

A memorable French culinary experience. Quite pricey, but worth the trip to discover some remarkable dishes. The risotto was rather... meh, and too rich in cheese. The service was very quick, although you should allow more time to read the menu (lots of information and some clutter here and there).

A perfect execution of flavors. Cooking to the millimeter. A perfect wine selection. The menu is well-balanced and beautifully presented. The service and staff are impeccable. Go there, this restaurant undoubtedly deserves a Michelin star. The kitchen team is focused and laser-like. A real gem! ❤️

A fantastic dining experience in Bergerac. L’Imparfait has a beautiful, elegant atmosphere while still feeling warm and welcoming, and the service throughout the evening was attentive and professional. I had the tuna for my main course, which was beautifully presented and a real highlight of the meal. You can tell that a great deal of thought goes into both the flavours and the presentation of every dish. Even the smaller details made the experience memorable, including the clever little hand towels that arrive looking like tablets and expand when water is poured over them! Excellent food, lovely wine and genuinely thoughtful service. A special restaurant that I would happily recommend and return to.
